big difference ! dont backtrack now, by claiming that you said “No longer the most important thing”. the point is that you basically said that a 3-gen aircraft with decent avionics can do what a 4-5 th gen fighter that is a better platform, can do. and that is so not true ! a good new-gen platform holds a lot of advantages, weight wise, performance wise, strength wise, over an older all-metal frame. only avionics cant make up for deficiencies of the platform.
for instance a Jag wont ever become a superb dogfighter, whether you put a radar on it or not. Im not saying that the FC-1 is equivalent to the Jag, but just having the overall layout of the F-16, does’nt make it an F-16.
Can PLAAF add some symbolic pictures on the aircraft, like chinese dragon or majestic looking tiger. It will makr their squadron more exciting
Something like that!
ask that to the PLAAF !
silly ? It was you who claimed that the platform does’nt even matter !!!
go tell that to the makers of new-generation jets ! that all the research and work that they’ve put into new structural materials and technology is all a waste. why ? coz the PAF can match those jets with a 3-gen Chinese built jet with an avionics fit provided by some Western companies !
rabbit, I was replying to a comment made by Thundaar “anyone who knows anything about aircraft will realise the platform is no longer the most important part of an air defence system, its what we put inside it. “
which is the avionics, the radar and such stuff. Thundaar discounted the platform as being not so important. In which case, the Bison, which has a Kopyo radar that is definitely better than current Chinese radars, EW and counter-measures, Russian BVR missiles, and the Sura HMS with R-73 missiles (something that the FC-1 can’t boast of as of now), would stand up trumps against the Owlet Dragon 😀 .
but pirate, AW&ST also has reporters like Neelam Matthews who simply lift reports out of newspapers, with all their inaccuracies and print them without even double-checking it. I’ll look for an article in it where Neelam Matthews made such glaring errors of designation of equipment, that it made the article look like a total DDM piece of work.
why would integrating the Su-30s be so difficult ? The Luftwaffe operated the MiG-29s with whatever changes were necessary to make them NATO compatible, so I dont see any reason why integrating Flankers would be that difficult.
The Su-30s dont need GCI help either, which most Eastern Block nations have been using with their jets extensively. and if Brazil can take a good long look at the Su-35, and nearly purchase it, not to mention Malaysia and Indonesia, all operators of Western jets, I dont see why Greece would find it too tough to operate the Flankers.
The Flankers would be a big force-multiplier for the Greeks, with its mini-AWACS, mini-tanker,maritime,air-dominance roles.
But yeah, selecting Flankers would seriously **** of the US.
to me, both look like they could again be made flightworthy with some repairs. not a very thorough job of destroying these aircraft is it ? probably just a warning and a let off by the French.
One-sided stabilator failure followed by catastrophic structural failure plus fuel-spray ignited by ejection seats?
is that from an accident report or are you just questioning how it happened ?
Pirate, any idea what the source of these satellite pics is ?
just blunt of speech. what did i say that everyone did’nt already know ?
anyone who knows anything about aircraft will realise the platform is no longer the most important part of an air defence system, its what we put inside it
yeah, so it basically puts the FC-1 on par with the MiG-21 Bison, does’nt it ? no new materials or technology (basically all metal) for its structure, Chinese avionics 😀 , and already known flight characteristics (remember all the stunts in the first flight test itself ! with a few BVR weapons makes it about as smashing as our Bisons.
abey Pak Thundaar, in the guise of posting, you’re again started flaming another Indian thread. and then you cry “Webmaster, webmaster”, when you are you ilk are called what they really are. nobody asked you to comment on whether or not we purchase anything from the US. yet you do, out of nothing but ill-will and spite. so then, when your intentinos are so clear, why ask others to post proper replies ?
and u’re a top student ? 😀 . internet is a great means to cloak one’s real self nai ? 😀
Pak has hundreds of Nuke facilities and most of them are decoys Most important Prof are from GIK institute Topi where i studied. I don’t think you have clue of that.
hundreds of nuke facilities ? some are in your bathroom I presume ? 😀
