Rafale ?! 😀 which dreamland do your PakDef guys live in ?
and just pulling stuff out of your arse and presenting it does’nt make it a fact. just saying “oh some guys said something at PakDef ” does’nt make it the truth. present a solid article from somewhere. why is that F-16.net does’nt mention any of the fibs that you’re presenting here ?
so you ***** just love ruining Indian threads huh ? wait on, we’ll return your favour in more than kind. :diablo:

IAF Mirage-2000TH jets test flown at Dassault’s facility. IAF roundels not yet painted on it.

where is this base and what happened to it ? could you provide some history behind it ? thanks in advance.
awesome ! are those the new build batch of Mirage-2000 H/TH jets being ferried to India ?
That was a joke. Just a link to the fact that India asks by accident same weapon systems as their neighbour. J10 is probably the only option besides fc1 that Pakistan can buy without India asking the same.
I remember the Mirage 2000-5. Pakistan went to France and India asked for more then 100 of the same. Then it happened with Qatari mirages. Then Gripen. Now there are reports about F16’s. I remember a post on this forum just after Pakistani president asking Gripen. Some members posted that India was intrested. Then even AFM article confirmed and still lot of posters were denying. Now it is there again. But why 125 Gripens? Why not local development like LCA. Either LCA is not good enough or they are playing between Dassault and Saab.
utter bull****. The IAF happens to be the user of the Mirage-2000, not the PAF. it was the IAF which evinced interest in the Mirage-2000-5 out of its own needs, not to copy the PAF, which had already evaluated the Mirage 2000-5 and could’nt afford it. at that time , the IAF was chasing the Su-30 and its MKI form.
The Qatari Mirages again were simultaneously offered to both the IAF and the PAF. the PAF does not have the infrastructure to support Mirages and hence such a small purchase did’nt make sense to it, whereas it makes ample sense for the IAF to purchase those jets.
again, regarding the F-16s, there were articles in BBC around Jan 1993 about Lockheed Martin OFFERING India F-16s. India did’nt go to them asking (or begging the way PAF did) for F-16s.
only now, even with it being openly known that the Mirage is the front-runner for the IAF, just to make it look like a fighter competition will be held, the F-16 and the Gripen have been shortlisted.
Besides, who needs Gripens anyways ? they’re in the same league as the Tejas, and dont bring any new revolutionary technology to the IAF.
the recent exercise against the USAF definitely makes me think that way. vanilla Su-30s spanked the F-15s, so what would a superior radar, coupled with superior agility by way of the TVC do to the F-16s ? they’d be spotted first, attacked first, and then hunted down even as they evaded the first salvo.
why would they go in for a Rafale when its price is close to the Eurofighter anyways ? If finances are a reason for the deal getting cancelled, then obviously a cheaper fighter will be looked at, and what better than the Su-30MKX ?
and if they’d go in for the Su-30MKI/MKM version, it offers them an Air Dominance Fighter that’ll sweep the Turkish F-16s off the sky. that too for around $35-40 million a piece.
my guess is that they’ll go in for a cheaper option, maybe more F-16 Block 52s or maybe the Mirage-2000-5 Mk.2.
