I have read your Balkans debates with close interest. I agree with some of the things that were said, but I agree mostly with Fred’s arguments – especially about the KLA and others being mostly by poorly trained ordinary people. I think this article from Jane’s Defence Weekly by Zoran Kusivac pretty much ends the debate.

and also one of the rebuilding of the Croatian Armed Forces – even their defence minister accepts that they are not quite a capable fighting force compared to NATO states. It also shows their commitment to getting rid of the large percentage of conscripts to get a more professional army.

Actualy we are a capable fighting force. Thats why we are in the OLMT mentor program in afghanistan practicly were instructors n train troops there so think twice.

Yes, and we would be forced to increase spending for our military. SO, let’s hope we do enter, but the biggest problem is bad image that NATO has in CRoatia. Currently, only 33% is for membership…

Wow Croatia is getting some new Equpiment. These things cost and how is Croatia going to pay for them. They still have debts from when they borrowed money from the US and other countries during the Croatian-Serbian War. Now Croatians are sending troops to Afghanistan, reason( so they can get their credit rating up to borrow more money) Croatia is going to fall in a mess if they keep doing this.

Um cause were rich. Our companies are getting more n more money. Wre building a nuclear power plant in 2010. Our GDP is second highest next to slovenias in the balkans lol thats why.
