My grandad was accepted into the RAF in 44/45 but by the time he was about to go in the war was over and they had no need for him anymore.
He instead joined the Army and was part of the little-known army presence during the partition of India in ’47
Ditto to the above.
Missed it thrice.
My grandad was an instrument mechanic on 263 Sqn.
I’ll see if he recalls the name.
I asked and he does recall the name.
Can anybody else help on finding out information about 263 Sqn during it’s meteor service time.
What’s happening to the Canberras?
Are they just going to be left to rot where they are?

I guess it’s per image. You can also send pictures to BBMF by e-mail. Then the max. size is 2 MB.
Thanks for the info.
Is that 5MB in total or per image?
Fantasic shots, amazing clarity.
I love the fact that you can get shots of the tops of the aircraft, there can’t be many places where you can do that!
Nice to see they’ve finsihed painting the Britannia, when I went a couple of weeks ago it was still 1/2 done.
Hmmm, the site lists it as attending “IMW Duxford”.
Any ideas on that one? :p
Anybody else Got a huge blue box at the top of the screen, left of where it says`The Aviation Forum`. I think its normally advertisments. It looks like its been stretched about five times its normal size. Just a small red cross like when you cant see a picture.
Ben
