Thanks John
Here’s a pic of the props hub. I’m sure it’s a BE.2 but I may be mistaken.

Thanks all. Nice to know what these are from.
I have found some of these parts that look like they started life at Bletchley Park are in fact from a Creed 7b teleprinter.
The cursor bearing indicators and mileage/yard counter have no markings. they are back lit and the counter spools Light up.
That box with the stripes is made of wood and has an aluminium cover riveted around it. It’s empty and has four holes on four sides. Weird because it’s sealed shut and has no evidence of ever been anchored to anything.
Cheers once again, Stephen.
Thanks all.
The shipment arrived yesterday and I think some of it is unrelated to aviation. The Mosquito stub tank fuel indicator has RAAF stamped into the Bakelite.
There was also a small electrical panel that I’m unsure of its origins. I guess it had some ammeters installed at one stage. Also two temp gauges, one radiator with numbers and one outside temp with nothing but T-52 H hidden low behind the cover that hides the base of the needle.
Cheers!

i took this the other week. Think it came over from New Zealand but was originally from Australia when new/assembled.
Was a nice thing to see and hear on a quiet day at the airfield. I’m sure you can hear the wires before the engine…

Hi
Check the aluminium tag crimped around the cable near where it plugs into the gauge.
It should have two or three letters stamped on it.
VS=vertical speed, AS=air speed ect..
Cheers.
Thanks all.
I did join the axishistory forum and asked there. You were all on the right track. Seems there is an older style caricature on the larger plate. It says rectifier tube on off switch. The other two are – 37A low-frequency two-stage or two-step, two-level. The third says To oil pump.
The guy who gave them to me said his Father mentioned they were off a A6M Zero. He has a larger plate from the outside of the aircraft. He just needs to locate it!
Here’s a direct link to my request and answer.

Thanks Ash
Will try and find a pic of one installed in something.
Stephen.
What an interesting read.
I was told allot of surplus props were cut down and turned into coat hangers. This one here is missing the hooks but the holes for them can be seen spaced evenly apart. I’m not really sure what aircraft it was off unfortunately.

That’s the one! Thanks for that cdmurray.
Searching Choiseul Island brought up a heap of info. I must have been before the Japanese built their base just East of the river mouth and had also occupied Guppy Island.
I have some other interesting docs that came with this haul. A short handout page titled “Medical Gen on Life in a Dinghy” It outlines what a downed pilot should do when he finds himself adrift in his life raft.
Another item, a handout again, it outlines partial and total restrictions on bombing and strafing of Bougainville Island. Dated 22/12/1944
Cheers.
Thanks for the info people. Much appreciated.
The Westland grip shows evidence of been worked on at some stage. The plastic grip just under the armament button looks like its been melted and smoothed over with a good attempt at recreating the orig Dunlop texture.
Ian, The reason my first post seemed to come from nowhere is that it took a few days for my post to be approved.
In my case the approval period took some time and when it did actually post the thread appeared out of sight on page 3. I decided to post the Westland grip to confirm its origins and both posts vanished for a time.
I guess that was when you posted up your Shack yoke and missed my posts.
Here’s both sides of the B1 for reference. Cheers!

A Wasp it is then. Many thanks for that Martyn!
I will copy over the hand written stuff on these grips just in case someone can decipher it or has an interest. I guess stores Dept marks with the records long lost.
Hand engraved just above the data plate on the B1 Grip is 27J/4008 /|
On the Wasp grip, in white paint is STI/EL/326P (or could be 32GP)
Cheers!
Graham, Maybe a little more than retouched.
The fine print at the bottom says he has done all the painting. The sellers completed listings confirms all that. Link
Stephen.
Thanks for the heads up Ewan.
It’s always interesting to read about new projects and their progress.
Please don’t hesitate post updates here as I am one of the few who don’t use facebook.
Stephen.
Hi
Can I ask someone to confirm that this is in fact a Wessex grip? You see I haven’t actually had the opportunity to see another up close, just what I was told when purchased.
Cheers!
