Thank you Thomas, very nice picture of this one-of-a-kind motor glider:).
Next one. This aircraft carried 2 registrations during its life.
Hi Thomas!
Am not sure, but my guess would be the Hinz BL1-KEA?
Gentlemen!
I donot know about you, but I thoroughly enjoyed the various posts on the SETCA Milan (and related questions):):)
Learned a lot !! a BIG thank you
to make things less complicated:diablo:
homebuilts also often start with an F-W… registration and this changes to the F-P… when the paperwork is done.
One of the people behind the Milan was said to be a Mr. Lagrevol. Could it be that the pre-war light twin he designed, is the Petrel? (nice picture Kevin!)
Is seems more than a coincidence that the name SETCA (S.E.T.C.A.) pops up in both designs.
There is a brief description plus photo in the 1954/1955 edition of Aircraft of the World by Gerald Green.
The Milan is also listed in “Les Avions Français de 1944 à 1964” by Pierre Gaillard. From the text I understand that the aircraft was developed during the (German) occupation by pilot Laboureix and engineer Lagrevol (who had designed a light twin before the war). In the accompanying photo the tail clearly shows the description “SETCA Le Milan No.01”
Unfortunately no mention whether there was/is a relationship with the Petrel mentioned by a.a. and no explanation what SETCA stands for.
The SETCA Milan, a two-seater of 1947. F-WCZZ/F-BCZZ
Does anyone knows what SETCA stands for excactly?
(Société E… T… de Constructions Aéronautiques or Avions??)
OH please
I hope this photo works better :).
It is French!
Registration is indeed F-***Z
hi avion ancien!
It is from one of these countries (Belfair or Norécrin).
This aircraft first flew in 1947.
Although the type was certificated in 1952, only a single example was built.
Hi Thomas,
thank you for the full picture of the VoWi-8 as D-EOPB. I understand that around 1989 the aircraft was restored (Mr. Monostory from Switzerland?) and that may be have been the reason for the showing it at the AERO fair around 1990.
Have a nice weekend.
I will post the next wot plane shortly
Hi Thomas!
Maybe the Wilden VoWi-8 of Helmut Wilden? But I understand that already flew in 1974(?)
Hi Chris, very correct :):)
First flight 24 May 1968. Prototype only and no further development
over to you please
How about this beautiful streamlined non-Cessna
Hi Chris!
Marinavia QR-14 Levriero?
