The next one is a two-seater. Not necessarily a homebuilt.
I understand two examples were built.
The Schempp-Hirth GS6 Milan from Germany (D-ECYD) ?
May I compliment avion ancien (for posting) and Richard B (for the correct answer) on the very unique RB-30 by Renè Barbaro. Avion ancien is correct that there is a lot we donot know about his designs.
What I found (and please correct me if I am wrong)
on the aviafrance site I did not find Mr. Barbaro`s name (?).
He did design/build the RB-30 (F-WFOT), RB-50/RB-51 (F-PLUD), RB-60 (F-PPZG)and RB-70 twin (F-PTEL
I doubt whether there was a RB-40. The design with the British connection may have been the RB-60 (P-PPZG) which used an Auster J/1 fuselage.
But then again Fox Papa reports F-WFOT as the RB-40 no.01.
In the site given by Richard B it says that the wings and engine of the RB-30 were later used in the RB-50. If that is correct the engine could be a Continental C90, although in old material I have, engine in the RB-30 is reported as Continental A65.
Hopefully somehow, somewere, sometimes some answers will come up.
Regasrs, Wout
avion ancien, maybe a hint (or 2) may help. Year/period, engine?
thanks
Hi Thomas, the one and only Harlow PJC-4. Congratulations!!:)
After WW2 it was modified into this, the Atlas H-10
You have control, please
Another clue. The designation is made up of the initials of the college. And this was not the first one. Examples of earlier designs got as far as India.
avion ancien, I donot know, to be honest.
They went to College in California:)
The aircraft is from the USA. It was aimed at the USAAC and built built by “young” people. It re-appeared after WW2 as four-seater.
Most other types of this manufacturer had round engines:D
an easy one (especially for those among us who know what it is) :p
On my PC the picture that went with post 2077 (by vulcan118) had gone.
I think it was the PL-12 (Transavia, Australia) and like the PL-11 a design of Luigi Pellarini.
Let`s see the verdict of vulcan1118.
avion ancien, sorry to bother, but is it the PL-11? I thought that one had a round engine and was made in a different country (NZ)
avion ancien, the B-80 Chablis was a perfect post!
Of course it is not my fault I did not recognize it. I was looking for homebuilt aircraft and not for Boisavia products.
I herewith officially blame you for me not finding the the answer and I consider myself completely free from any shortcomings whatsoever.
PS: Please continue with such postings. Beautiful
Avion ancien, sorry I have to pass on this one. Never happened the last 45 years, but I humbly surrender
Checked all parasol wing avions d`amateurs, but could not find a match.
Anyone knows of any other site with a quizz or forum with aircraft to be guessed. (I mean a site that is not dead, like this one. RIP).
Thanks
Since John recognized the last entry as the bl88dy aeroplane about a week ago, I suggest OPEN HOSE to continue the thread
