Oh we are very aware of the potential problems, all he’s going to do is teach me the steering and how to handle a car, then apparently we are going to go up and down the road near us, as it’s a 50 limit and can be a quiet road.

Even he has said that I will need an instructor to teach me the rest.

And he has been told, first time he shouts at me and I get out!

We did well with the insurance, allbeit third party… I’m on it till the end of the year, for once my age is doing me favours!

I’ve had my provisional a few weeks, but have only had one informal lesson with the other half, this involved driving in perfect circles round a car park. He’s wanting me to get used to steering before I have to worry about the clutch and gears (we are using his automatic). He has now had me put on his insurance for the rest of the year so I can actually go out on the roads.

I think £60 for a snap kit is a bit excessive, but then some people will pay it as they don’t have the patience for an Airfix/Revell kit.

Personally I would go for the proper kits, I am not that keen on the snap together, and my other half has done a pretty decent job of his 1/48 Eurofighter (though I think his 1/48 Tornado is much better!)

I thought it was a maximum of two years between passing the theory and having to get your license?

If that time lapses then you have to retake the theory, and I do know the you cannot take your practical until you have passed your theory and hazard perception.

Hi again, I asked a few questions in a shop today and got the advice that nikons are better to use with sigma lens’s than canons because of the ability to focus and allow other camera settings to be used as standard with a compatable add-on lens, any input on this???, i think a nikon might be the best for me but does anyone know if…… im getting something in the region of a 50-500 sigma add-on for distance, what other wider/closer angle lens i would be better getting with or on the camera/ package. ie. do i get the body only and then seperate lenses or just get a nikon d50? /70? with 18-55?? digital lens ,, is an 18-55 any good???

best package ideas???? nikon D50?? 18/55 mm lens?? sigma 50-500mm??
