Thanks for your suggestions, but they do not work. The box is ticked for downloading images, but there is still nothing in the blue box to click on. However, some threads do have images which open OK.
I guess there is something in my internet options settings which is preventing me from seeing the thumbnails, but then why would some open and not others. Could it be the problem is with the person posting the pictures?
    Regards from
    Geoff.

An example can be found in the item posted on 8th October by STAN.
It is called “Long shot — can you identify etc.”
In the blue rectangle below attached thumbnails there is nothing to click on, yet the replies all seem to have seen the pictures.
    Hope this helps.
    Geoff.

    Mike,
Like I said in my reply, I worked in the aerospace industry at Marshalls and elsewhere for over 50 years as a structural designer. Sadly i can remember every project, and even some of the drawing numbers that I produced. I guess it’s all down to be thoroughly interested in all things aircraft!!
Any more questions? I’ll be glad to help.
    Geoff.

Last time I drove past RAF Wyton there were old Canberra airframes rotting on the airfield. Try visiting the base if you are not too far away.

ISS A is most likely the issue number of the drawing of that part.
The full drawing number is EA3 identifying the mark of Canberra, 20 is the structural part of the airframe, I think 20 is wing structure, 04028 is the detail drawing number.
EEP 391 is an inspector’s stamp, probably English Electric Preston, 391 being the inspector’s identity.
I worked on Canberra design at Marshalls some 33 years ago, so my memory may be slightly inaccurate. You could try taking the part in to Marshall’s hangars if you really want anymore gen.

Just looked at the Sally B website, Lloyds of London, Richard Branson and a private individual have arranged insurance cover for the rest of the season.
I now have a reply from the Minister for Transport stating that EU member states are cosidering amending the Regulation to reduce the scope of cover for aircraft such as Sally B.

When I heard about Sally B and the EU Insurance problems, I took two practical steps. First–I joined the Sally B Supporters Club, second–I wrote to Sir Richard Branson and asked him for a donation of £25,000 to keep the aircraft flying.
If everyone who posts in this forum were to do something similar, then maybe Sally B’s future would be assured.
I am still waiting to hear from my MP, the Minister for Aviation, MEP, CAA, etc.

    Israeli design engineers on Lavi

I just happened to come across this forum by chance, but you may be interested to know that I was one of the design engineers working on the Lavi project in 1983 thru 1986. I am not Israeli, I am a British aerospace structural designer, and there were nothing like 1,500 engineers on the project. There were about 500 in total, mostly British, with very few Israelis.
The Israelis mostly headed up groups, but relied heavily on British and American design expertise.
Since the Lavi was cancelled some time ago, and most Israelis were made redundant, I cannot see how China would need any input from Israel.
