The GAO’s record is far from perfect. Really, they criticize just about every major Military Project. You think the world is going to come crashing down the way they spin it. I clearly remember when the F-16, M-1 Tank, and P&W F-100 Engines were in development. The GAO was far from kind! Yet, they all turned out to be widely successful Programs

The job of the GAO is to warn if a program is going out of control not to congratulate the DoD when a program runs fluently.

Ja it is almost criminal of the GAO to say that the USAF has a bad strategy when the USAF isnt the only party that plays a role

The GAO says that the DoD (not the USAF) has a bad strategy.
The GAO is concerned about the fact that the production will start before flight trials are finished.

Is the F-22 the only fighter that uses a ball screw to raise the canopy?

The F-16 and the rafale too.

As Steve said, there are some rafale which are flying but are still in Dassault’s hand and will go directly to the 1/7 squadron before july.

I’ve also heard of the rafale M11 which would be completed.

the raf, and the previous 1/7 fighter : the jag.

but the EF flying a few weeks back with 3 fuel tanks and 4 bombs was heavier

    correct.
BTW, why are they testing such a payload
With such a draggy load and only one tank, it’s not going to fly very far.
Or may be they just want to test the pylons.

does that mean french forces will not integrate BGL series into Rafale?

For the french rafale, probably not.

About GBU-24 is this weapon already in french service and when by which types are they used?

yes it is. On mirage 2000 D and mirage F1 CT

I would like to ask again, my previous post with this question was unanswered:

Does any one know if Rafale’s nose is larger than that of M2K?

Seems like M2K can hold a larger dia radar. I think that is a step backwards for the Rafale. (Despite arguments like Rafale has more modern radar, etc.. )

    It is the same size.

But who cares. What ever the instability of typhoon is, it eventually can’t escape from the short range NEZ of a mica IR (let’s say, 5 to 10 nm to be nice). :diablo:

    Not to mention India.
And IIRC, the super hornet was also proposed to Korea and Singapore but was droped quite early during the contest.

looks like Thales has learnt his leasson and is now using the same means as the americans to win juicy defence contracts.

Too bad the good old spy is not as efficient as the echelon global spying network
