so has the mica IR 🙂
And yes it also the worst, but as I said until theres a better one it will have to suffice.
or we could just ignore it as Sukhoi; Boeing and Dassault did. (but may be DERA knows their planes better ?)
Many things can influence the outcome, the DERA Joust system was used to try and smooth some of the anomalies out, I understand the concerns that the enemy flight parameters might have errors/omissions, but to date its the best guage we have in the public domain.
yes, many things, especialy marketing.
If I undrestand the joust simulation well, they have simulated BVR combat between the su-35 and other fighters, right ?
ok, they have basic datas about the su-35 and its weapon system and all the data they want about the typhoon.
Therefore, a su-35 vs typhoon simulation is only half-worthless.
Now, explain me how they can simulate a su-35 vs rafale bvr combat with no serious data (missiles, ECM, radar) from both fighters ?
they can’t.
but to date its the best guage we have in the public domain
As it is the only one, it is also the worst :p
being close is not enough to win a contract :p
Is the discipline in other army so strong it is harder to release such kind of video? Or is it just a result of our pilot’s usual wine drinking behaviour? 🙂
There have been military sanctions for the pilots after those videos being released everywhere on the net.
cameras and camcorders are forbidden in all military french planes since then.
I have never seen a video of a USAF plane flying low… just for the fun … Is it that the consequences of releasing such a video would be really bad for the pilot?
You haven’t searched hard enough then :p
Are you trying to psychoanalyse me or something ?
All the information you have are in the same category
yes. What your point ?
I’m not the one who is inventing funny stats.
So for you to call one report propaganda and say what your saying as gospel
Did I say that ?
sorry, I just give my opinion.
Fact is you nor anyone else know anything.
STOP TRYING TO BE AN EXPERT
I know one thing : those statistics are bogus and you don’t need to be an expert to realize that.
and that’s just my opinion (and probably Dassault and Sukhoi opinion too) :p
Listen, if, by chance, those figures were right, they would be in a file with a big “CLASSIFIED” written on it.
They have been released everywhere on the internet > therefore it is just marketing or propaganda if you prefer.
You got to be right, they didn’t consult with you first! Because we all know you have all the information. Got forbid, these people who actually do these thing for living not consult you! What were they thinking.
I mean, they have million dollar equipments to do these test and they have resources at hand, but hey next time they should consult you and your amazing skills at doing google search.
– May be they should consult Dassault and Sukhoi first to get all the classified data and if it’s not enough i will give them some tips about google search :p
You know, millions $ supercomputers don’t make google search better than a 500 $ PC if you only use the “I’m felling luky” button :diablo:
– they could also use their millions to hire a better marketing team.
– Or Perhaps they could organize a counterstrike tournament to make something usefull with their supercomputers ? what do you think ? 😎
Comments will be appreciated.
The DERA evaluation is a joke. no more no less.
How can they compare fighters in BVR combat without serious data about
– RBE-2 and N-011 radars
– OSF
– mica and R-77 missiles
– ECM
– all aspect angles RCS
???????????
The only datas they have are about the captor, the amraam and the DAAS system.
Sorry, but this evaluation thing is pure cr^p :p
I mean, even real BVR exercices (with the real planes and systems) are very difficult to debrief because each side downgrade their missile/ ECM efficiency and never provide missile launch timings in order to keep the ranges and no-escape zones secret. BTW, i’m sure the DERA creators have never put their butt in a rafale or a Su-35.
3) Top Gun – MiG-28s? Of course no one’s been that close before, Goose. They DON’T EXIST (at least like that). And why do MiG-28s resemble T-38s anyway?
It is explained in the movie : The mig-28 is a soviet (fictional) copy of the F-5. 🙂
7) Rambo: FirstBlood 2 – i know an Mi-24 is intimidating, but how many rockets can an empty launcher fire? Apparently plenty enough to threaten a Huey…
actually it’s a puma 😀
1- video cameras. This pictures has been taken during the landing tests on the Foch.
2- No.
Worst : Behind ennemy lines sam scene.
Worst 2 : F-14 inverted above the mig-28 in top gun
Best : zero vs F-14 in the final countdown
Best 2 : Me-109 coliding with a B-17 in Menphis Bell
Best 3 : Chuck Yeager F-104 altitude record at the end of the right stuff
Best 4 : First mig-28 flyby in Tog gun
Best 5 : it’s classified :dev2: :diablo:
They have chosen the worst solution : they asked Bae to lead the project using the design of thales UK.
As the project was glued in political and financial mud, they have given the whole managment to an american company. don’t know if it’s going to help (i hope so)
As usual the british are trying to sit between 2 chairs (well 3 chairs now :p ) instead of choosing one of them.
IMHO, they should have chosen Bae for the managment AND the design.
