The aircraft will soon be headed to sky harbour in canada for a complete strip and repaint into OD colors …. this is the scheme it wore before coming to Stallion 51 for overhaul/restoration.
As Tom Blair says … his initials are on the side because ” the check cleared ” !!
PL-344 is Mr. Blairs first and personal Spit that he flys out of Kissimmee on a regular basis. The intention was never to base this aircraft in the UK for any period of time. It came over for a good bit of work and respray and will be returning very soon to Stallion 51. PL-344 and RN-201 will be based in Kissimmee at Stallion with his Mustang and P-40 and P-38. TD-248 and the Mk. V will stay in the UK for the near term as will the 109 and 190.
Expect to see it return to the USA very soon as this is T.Blairs baby.
Final Offical count : 83 P-51s at the Gathering.
Check out the 51 Formation….. on ASB
Thanks very much for your help !

Blair’s P-38 Putt Putt Maru is at Stallion 51 Maintance facility undergoing a complete overhaul, I saw the aircraft today. It will be staying at Kissimmee In his newly finished facility at Stallion 51. Also saw RN-201 and she looks stunning as usual surrounded by 5 Mustangs and a P-40 in Stallion’s main hanger. The folks at there are exercising her on a regular basis.
Also of note during my visit was a large collection of vintage cars that belong to Mr. Blair. Restored corvetts, thunderbirds, cameros, Mercedes, and some stunning very vintage Bentleys. I understand they will go on display in the car section of his new museum.
I was told that PL344 has just arrived with John Romain at ARCO and will be getting a complete overhaul and respray into new and accurate colors. Hince the UNKNOWN container at DX’s area 51.
I was also told by folks at Stallion that Blair’s Flugwerk 190 and Spanish 109 will be coming across the atlantic in time for the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends in Fall of 07 and then move into the new living history center at Kissimmee.
If anyone has the opportunity to visit Stallion I highly suggest it. They are very kind to let you up close and personal and their engineers are very friendly and informative.
Blair has completely leveled the former Flying Tigers Musuem property adjacent to Stallion 51 and is completing a new display hanger that will be first class when complete and uniquely different from any other museum.
The Blair and Stallion 51 Facilities are immaculate and the staff take great pride in their environment …. Well done !
Cheers,
Austin
Amazing how there is so many critics when you should be thankful to even see one gracing the skies over Duxford. I assume that Mr. Blair has reason for painting it that way and it is his aircraft so I dont imagine he gives a squat what the judgmental types think! If It was me, I would paint it Pink and purple just to **** the peanut gallery off !

First of 2
Sounds like the first of Mr. Blairs 2 Flug Werk 190s. I hear that he has a long nose in the works as well.
Anyone know of any other types I might have missed in his collection in the UK or United States.
