YES………..there is a god!!!!! O’Leary gets a kicking!!!!!
Make no mistake guys, the only reason FR’s fares are so cheap is because of the subsidies they recieve from various out of the way airports trying to attract business to their region, which is fair enough I fully understand that. FR have been very successfull placing themselves as the champions of low fares in Europe and the great British public love to get something for nothing (and then moan about it of course) but maybe that’s about to change!
O’Leary has no interest in his customers, just the money they give him, he has made that clear on several occassions. It will be very interesting to see how FR stand up against other airlines if they have to start charging realistic fares. They have created an unrealistic market place with such rediculous fares. I’m not suggesting fares should increase to pre low cost levels but £1.99 is just stupid!
Anybody get the idea I don’t like him?
Rant over.
Excellant photos Kev, the Flybe Dash looks fantastsic as it goes overhead!!!

IF62M
Well said IF62M, agree with you totally.
I still say MOL is a shark, what astute businessman registers his car as a taxi purely so he can use bus/taxi lanes in rush hour traffic. He appears to have nothing but contempt for his customers as he has proved time and time again and the way he treats his crews is incredible. Pilots sending theirs CV’s to FR have to pay before they are even looked at, cabin crew have to pay for their own training and uniform…..no thanks.

Excellant pics Ren, how come you didn’t get to go to SYD with Mrs Ren too? Hope she had good flights with SIA, I flew with them last year and they were excellant……I remember the old ad they used to have….Singapore girl, that’s showing my age!!!!!

I agree, a huge rip off, Michael O’leary is a shark!!!!
Whilst they continue to offer stupidly low fares they will have passengers to treat badly, customer service is a concept unknown to Ryanair. I have flown with them once, never again.

Excellant photos, the duo CRJ’s look brilliant!

BA179 on any friday night LHR/JFK, whenever I operate it!!!!!!
It’s always full but a good flight to operate as the pax are mostly either to going to NYC shopping/sightseeing for the weekend or Americans working in London going home for a few days so everyone’s in a good mood……or they’re asleep (even better!!!!)

The cabin looks awful, very cheap but then that’s FR!!!!! Having said that it does look like a good way to get the pax to read the safety instructions. You will always get the w*****s though who think they know it all!
Some people do take the safety cards (along with a lot of other things too!) but on BA aircraft the cabin is checked during the aircraft turnaround and the contents of the seat pockets replaced if needed.

Totally amazing!!!
Quite retro but not sure if I like it, it’s a bit bold and in your face!!!!
duo already operate 2 CRJ’s daily between BHX and GOT, wonder which one will last or if they will grow the route between them.
Good to see the smaller airlines, not just the low cost carriers, starting new routes though.

My thoughts are with them all, RIP.
Good stuff mate, glad you had a good time.

I think the main problem BA pax have with RJ’s, mainly the EMB 145 is the amount of personal space and space for carry-on baggage. The cabin has a 1-2 layout and overhead baggage bins on the right hand side only. The bins are also very small and cannot accept larger items, even some brief cases. BA operate a “valet baggage” system (other airlines probably do similar)whereby pax cabin baggage is taken from them at boarding and returned to them as they leave the aircraft. During the flight it is stowed in the rear hold along with all checked in baggage. It generally works well. The EMB 145 and CRJ 200 have one hold at the rear of the aircraft and the CRJ700 has two, one at the rear and one in the middle, mainly for cabin baggae. The duo CRJ 200 and 700 also have a wardrobe for pax coats, there is no room for this on the EMB 145 (without removing seats of course).
Also, BA pax flying from BHX and MAN had got used to the Airbus 319, however, they were moved to LHR and replaced by a fleet of ex Cityflyer 146’s and Brymon/BRAL EMB 145’s, plus the odd J41 and ATP!!!
From a cabin crew point of view the CRJ200 and EMB 145 are awful!!!!! They are a nightmare to work on. When they are full the crew are constantly bumping into pax as they lean out into the aisle reading newspapers. I am also told that some BA regular pax hate them and will often change flights to avoid them. I know this as a good friend works on them from BHX and MAN plus I position on them regularly and often feel very sorry for the crew!!!
I also agree that RJ’s are great as a feeder aircaft, plus using them on thinner routes where the pax numbers don’t warrant larger equipment.
The boarding issue, walking across the tarmac is great, seeing other aircraft parked around and all that but when it’s p*****g down the pax get wet and the cabin smells damp and like stale farts!!!! That’s not the aircraft’s fault though LOL!!!
Having said all of that, I think they are great to look at and look smart when they are all lined up together on stand.
All the best.

A friend of mine is cabin crew with BA CityExpress operating Emb 145’s from BHX. She says they are awful to work on and the pax hate them!!!
I’ve flown on a duo CRJ700 and thought it was excellant, plenty of room for such a small aircraft.
Walking acroos the tarmac is a bonus as you get to see other aircraft close up!!!
