No new routes from NCL yet?? Will NCL ever get some new routes?? Also, will NCL remain a B73G base, or convert to Airbus? Anybody heard anything?

Air Scotland (GRE) operated for some sundays in may and june (quite often with lengthy delays) and then stopped operating. It still appears on departure boards on sundays cos its still loaded in FIDS system. But it doesn’t ever operate.

New viewing area at NCL due to open this weekend or early next week – earlier than expected.

For those that don’t know where it is – its on the Check-in Level 1, go behind Travelex and through the doors into the new visitors lounge, and there it is!

    Have fun!

    Delays at NCL today

Delays at NCL today were caused by a complete computer failure at about 330am this morning. It took until 730am for nearly everything to be restored: baggage belts, check-ins, flight info, everything. Some of the flight info screens are still off. This meant that most flights before 730 this morning were delayed in departing, which obviously created a knock-on effect for flights later in the day.

Just one of those things, nothing to do with weather or anything.

New viewing area & visitors bar/cafe

Can anyone remember a few years ago when domestic departures used to be downstairs??? Yes, well that area is still there and is a dead space at the moment. So the whole area behind check-in on ground floor is going to be converted into a viewing area, cafe and bar. In fact the cafe is already there as it is Café Pronto now which is currently airside – this will change to landside.

There will be no new facilities on the first floor, as that is ALL departures now. Costa will be having a makeover though!

There is no new actual building projects planned at all.

ok lets clear some things up about new facilities at NCL.

The new departure lounge is now open (3 times as big as before) with floor to ceiling view of whole airport apron and runway – really spectacular. Inside is now the food court, burger king, 2 bars, 1 coffee shop, whsmith, boots, other shops, kids play area, sushi bar, duty free etc.

The visitors facilities are yet to open. They will open in 5/6 weeks time on the same level as the check-in. And will provide a view of runway, a bar and cafe.

There will be no viewing terrace at all, as there is simply no where to put it. and also for security reasons.

The airport is now looking fantastic. Rivals anything of other airports in the country.
