Is this for real? Cancelling the EF? Why would they do that after years and millions invested in it and gaining orders?

FYI the rebels haven’t even fielded SAMs or dedicated AAA yet. Yes yet, cuz its not hard for a terrorist organisation to get SAMs or AAA. Algeria lost one MiG-23BN due to mechanical problems and once a AAF Mi-17 pilot turned against the government and destroyed several helicopters and planes on his base.

I once read a rumour about Morocco ordering 140 of these and than canceling it due to financial problems.

Chinese officials have been in Morocco for quite a while now, negotiating about arms deliveries. Is there a chance that Morocco orders the FC-1?

Just if you wanted to know, in the late 90s ( 97 or so ) Pakistan contacted Turkmenistan to buy their surplus Foxbats but they refused not to offend India ( IAF MiG-25 flew over Islamabad in 97).
