Those are defenently not bullet holes, they do not have the shape and there is a mark on the pilots hand and leg, if that was a bullet hole his hand and leg would be severly injured.
I think they are some kind of metal nails to keep the picture in its place ( maybe the picture is transfered onto a metal sheet or something like that ).
