I love how you guys talk like you’re the victim of other people’s deceptions. Maybe if you didn’t dump your allies so easily after you used them to fight your battles for you, you wouldn’t be in this mess. Expect loyalty from others but you show none in return. What did you think was going to happen when you play both sides?

Ever hear of “All talk and no action?” You guys read that article how India can’t get anything done because everyone in the government has their own personal interests that conflict with everyone elses? So they block each other from India taking the next step. And how many of them are being paid by different foreign defense industries to keep them in competition. That’s called corruption in other places. What does all this say about India’s domestic capabilities? Anyone talking of the LCA being 100% indigenous these days?

Did hotdog get the sack or something? Seems there is a rash of his nonsense popping up all over the place recently.

No, I believe he was the one called out that he spent too much time (like all day… literally) in this forum. He soon after disappeared. So he’s just trying to show how he doesn’t waste his time.

And also, they would need to show convincing data on not just performance but also quality. A country that keeps adding toxic subtances to baby food, can they be trusted to deliver high quality fighter jets, with support?

Has this forum been taken over by children? In the another thread some are complaining about the realism in a cartoon. And the world shouldn’t buy American because Detroit makes crappy cars that no one buys even Americans.

typical nationalistic response by changing the subject to another country that was never in question, then claiming hypocrisy.

don’t worry my furry friend, we all know Americans shooting down aliens is a fantasy, that’s why Independence day is a science fiction movie about some author’s fantasy, not a documentary. 😉

What’s a nationalist? Since I’m American and dare to ask questions, I have never been called a nationalist until now.

Why all the sensitivity over a cartoon then if you guys know it’s fantasy. Is this like when Americans complained when in a Godzilla movie Godzilla stomped on some American soldiers saving some Japanese soldiers in WWII? If it’s just fantasy then why are people complaining? People who complain about cartoons are fascists or maybe childish. Just like complaining about Avatar.

Love the thought police who hide behind freedom and democracy.

Oh yeah like when Americans can actually win against an alien invasion. How touchy and sensitive to realism can you be when it comes exaggerations of others. And we know Americans would never kill off the Na’vi for their precious resources because they have a history of respecting other cultures and nature.

    What hypocrisy!

Yeah China is so scared to use such a weapon in fear of nuclear retaliation that they aren’t even attempting to develop it. Oh wait… they are.

You guys must be smoking something if you think China wouldn’t use this weapon, especially if the US was the aggressor, out of fear it might get Americans mad. You wonder why if the Chinese are in so much awe and fear of the US, why aren’t they bending over backward volunteering to be America’s slaves. Why are all the Western media peeing in their skirts because China doesn’t bow down to the West over Copenhagen or Iran or anything else? Is this like during the beginning of the Iraq War, Americans were angry that Iraqis were shooting back. Yeah everyone in the universe knows if Americans want to kill you, you’re suppose to let them. Or else it’s considered some sort of crime where there’s going to be a trial and a judge and stuff.

Like I said earlier, if everything favors the US then you guys have nothing to worry about then do you? But the whole point of this exercise is to provoke emotion isn’t it. In other words… “flaming,” to which I will be accused because I dare to bring up the other side of the coin. The little hawks need some some stroking of the ego of how the US will win. Why worry about something that undoubtedly won’t work? The hawks want a Cold War with China. Well aren’t you suppose to let them waste their money on trying to catch-up and/or develop fantasy weapons systems like this? But then if you’re so easily capable of winning, the war would’ve started long ago. “The evil Chinese regime is worst in all the world…” You’ve started wars with other countries on lesser charges. You forget that the US has shown it will start wars. Western politicians, and people in this forum too, to this day perpetuate the propaganda that Russia started the war with Georgia. So quit thinking only scenarios in the context of aggression from the other side. If the US starts the war, and remember you will use nukes first on a nuke capable country, you think the Chinese are going to worry about getting Americans mad by using this weapon?

btw, the Achilles heel of the of the US is Americans can’t take casualties. One American death is equivalent to at least a thousand in scale to the rest of the world. Just look at it from your perspective. How many worthless lives from the other side is equivalent to one of yours? Now you have a number to base it on. So it doesn’t take much by the other side to psychologically call it even with the American psyche. On the grand scale of things Americans didn’t lose that many people in total in the Iraq War. Yet all the calls for pull-out have come because of whatever amount of US casulaties had occurred in a month and shocked Americans at the time. Just like some people can’t end the Vietnam War. Yeah to comfort yourselves you’ll argue the US won the Vietnam War because the other side lost more people. Well then that settles it. The US won the Vietnam War! But we know that’s not enough is it? Just like debating about fantasy Chinese ASBMs…

Scuds had a range between 100 – 500 KM. They could barely get out of Iraq, let alone target USA. Israel did keep open the possibility of a first strike with nukes against Iraq, but then decided to take the risk of waiting for a strike from Iraq before retaliating. There was enough doubt whether Iraq had a working Nuke (we know now it did not) to take that chance.

If launching a BM at the US by another country with proven nukes and long range missiles, away from the immediate theatre of war, will not invite an instant retaliation, then the credibility of the entire US nuclear doctrine is at stake.

Once BMs enter the picture in a conflict between US and China, you are already on an escalation path that will only end with either a mutual nuclear strike or China offering a truce or surrender.

Range doesn’t matter if one believes the possibilty of it carrying NBC. The fact is they waited until after impact to make conclusions. There’s also talk of short-range and air-launched ASBMs too. Oh I’m sure even if a conventional warhead was used on an ASBM, there would be still be calls for a nuclear counterstrike anyway especially if it scored a hit so it doesn’t really matter.

How would an enemy differentiate between a BM aimed at the ships and a nuclear BM aimed at the civilian targets, at the boost phase itself. _IF_ China is at war with US and then launches a BM (one or more), will the US wait around to see where it falls and what the payload is before deciding on a counter nuclear attack ?

I’m very skeptical about any major militaries using BMs against each other except short range ones to target formations within or very close to their own territory.

This sounds like a strategic weapon more useful by the possibility of its use than actual use.

Just like the first Iraq war and its Scuds. Back then it was speculated that there was a possibility of them having NBC warheads and the allies did wait until impact. Israeli cities were targeted.

Your way to generous there I bet. They’ll need to learn how to copy a decent 4th-gen engine first. A Chinese 5th gen engine anytime soon? Not a chanse in hell. Trust me. My scooter is Chinese, and every single atom in it SUCKS. Total rubbish. My greed fooled me when I decided to buy it.. Next time I’ll pay twice the price for something German instead!

My friend said the same thing about his Volkswagen Jetta. He ain’t buying overpriced crap anymore?
