I guess Obama can add $5 billion to the $35 billion lost by US businesses due NSA spying.
Maybe you should take your own advice because someone is upset at the truth.
The US is more likely to want to invade other countries for personal gain. Look at how much trouble the US had with Iraq and Afghanistan. The only reason why anyone would think Russia or China would bother is because of the simplistic thinking that everyone is worse than the US. Meaning if the US bites more it can chew, everyone else has to be more stupid.
Thanks for proving my point. If you have such a basic disregard, why bother? It’s because you are bothered? The Chinese already have other UAVs do runway tests on its own power. Why would you question it here? Because you want to insult but it just shows your ignorance instead. Thank you for that.
That one billion dollars to Egypt goes to paying American defense contractors. Egypt couldn’t buy anything but American. I’m sure defense corporations and their lobbies don’t like this news.
Not healthy skepticism. It’s called denial and ultimately envy. There are YouTube videos out of different Chinese UAVs taxiing on their own turbine jet engine power. Maybe this guy won’t be convince by anything until he’s invited personally to see it.
As with all wars involving China it is difficult to look past the economics. If China were to opt for an aggressive land invasion of a neighbour it is fairly likely that it would see it’s exports dry up and inward investment suddenly fall away. As the Chinese economy is still predominantly export based, especially to the west, and has seen it’s GDP propped up hugely by inward investment this would have a devastating effect on its economic position regardless of cash reserves. China is not yet in a position where inward consumption could pull it through and it couldn’t rely on shifting its exports to non-western countries as the rest of the world doesn’t consume enough and it’s neighbours aren’t likely to be too pleased and welcome Chinese goods with open arms in any event. Such a move now would set China back hugely and may well ultimately lead to internal rebellion in a number of Chinese provinces as economic growth is no longer enough to keep everyone happy(ish).
Really? How come China’s economy didn’t fall apart soon after the 2008 Western financial crisis? How is China the number one car market in the world if they’re getting paid slave wages and the cars are priced about the level as in the US? How is that millions of Chinese tourists travel outside China every year and are the biggest spenders out of all in the world?
I love how many in here are bringing up how Vietnam gave China a bloody nose to which you draw your conclusions. Did you forget that the US lost big time to Vietnam right before? Not to mention the not-at-all outright victories of recent conflicts. Or maybe some are in denial… There’s a reason why the US calls the Korean War, “The Forgotten War.” I also love this talk that Vietnam is more exposed to modern warfare. If you look at all the US involved conflicts since WWII, most are really nothing to be proud about.
Since you all seem to be praising Vietnam… as Ho Chi Minh said, “I’d rather step on French or American **** for twenty years than to step on Chinese **** for a thousand.”
The reference to its massive size is more related to its “thickness” than length. Flanker is an elegant machine. The J-20 is just brute.
Too large… to what? Before I told you, you apparently thought it was larger than any other fighter. Too heavy… how do you know again? Because you thought it was bigger than any other fighter? See what I mean by arm-chair expert?
How hard is it to show a specific quote supporting your charge that I argued that the J-20 doesn’t use Russian engines? Bringing up the Su-35 deal to support your charge must mean you’re saying the J-20 has the same engines that are on the Su-35. Since China doesn’t possess any Su-35s, how does China have those engines to put on the J-20. Pretty simple to understand.
With pleasure.

That was a fun thread 🙂 .
All I see is a lot of conversation about the supposed Su-35 sale. You’re a big goof liar. How does arguing whether or not the Su-35 sale to China is real or not equate to arguing whether or not Russian engines are on the J-20? Since you brought up this conversation and the Russians have sold nyet Su-35s to China, how does that equate to the Su-35 engine on the J-20? Pretty poor and desperate arguing. Because you did not show me a specific quote of mine saying what you charged me and instead just show a page in a conversation, all that tells me is you desperately searched for a quote but couldn’t find it so you just show a conversation that says nothing about an argument over whether or not there are Russian engines on the J-20. Instead a sad attempt at trying to spin a conversation about the Su-35 sale to China that has never happened because you see no Su-35’s in China. I’ll help you try to argue your point better. Why didn’t you just use the Russian engines China does have in its possession to make your point? I would still be able deny it but at least you wouldn’t be stuck with the epically worse failure you’re in now where you bring the Su-35 sale that hasn’t happened so you can’t really say those engines are on the J-20 now because no Su-35s are in China’s possession? If the Chinese don’t have Su-35s, how did they get the engines first? Those engines on the J-20 don’t look like the 117S. Those engines are even noticeably different from the Russian engines China does have.
How do you serve crow in Russian? Yeah that was a fun conversation since no sale of Su-35s has happened and shows how wrong you are again. Let me guess, you’re now going to start arguing about the SU-35 sale again to cover how you were wrong with this one. It still hasn’t happened so you can continue arguing the same thing forever.
True, remember when you denied the J-20 having Russian engines 🙂 ?
Show me where I said that because frankly I don’t know such information so I wouldn’t comment on such things. You better show me because you’ll be an outright liar if you don’t. Just a shot in the dark?
This board is so full of arm-chair experts. The J-20 is slightly shorter than a Flanker. I bet you so-called experts haven’t seen the satellite photo of the J-20 parked next to a Flanker. So you people think you’re experts yet you obviously aren’t even giving much attention on the goings on of what you critique. You just repeat what you like to hear from other so-called self-anointed experts.
Civilised? Have you seen my sig?
Motorhead sure isn’t civilised:
And that’s what I listen to when I feel civilised. Usually it’s more along the lines of this:
That’s a nice front but your display of peacock feathers doesn’t do anything for me. For all I know you could be one of those people who whined about the Taliban using snipers as if that was unfair but is okay when the US drops bombs from 30,000 ft. BTW, the US uses snipers too.
I love how “civilized” people talk. Here’s how you guys sound.
