Aircraft crashed at Bonvills Farm, North Benfleet, Essex

Hurricane P3110 73 Sqn P/O Robert Durham Rutter baled out, aircraft crashed Steels Farm, Seamans Lane, West Hanningfield, Essex

Hurricane P3110 73 Sqn Flt/Lt Reginald Eric Lovett baled out White House Farm, North Fambridge, Essex

Hurricane V6625 249 Sqn Flt/Lt Robert Alexander Barton baled out over Shellhaven, Essex

Hurricane V6644 501 Sqn P/O Stanislaw Skalski baled out with severe burns aircraft crashed near Herne Bay, Kent

As only Lapkowski and Skalski appeared injured it may be one of those two

it seems even in Germany the name “Spitfire” is splashed over a newspaper article when 95% of it is about another type of aeroplane!

Detective-Sergeant Gill, of Torquay, said Prisoner was born in Dundee in Dundee in 1899. He was first employed as a clerk in the North of Scotland Bank. In 1922 he joined the army and obtained a commission in the Black Watch.
Whilst in India he married and had a wife and two children. On returning to Dundee in 1923 he founded a company under the name of
Kenneth Kirkaldy & Co., which had now gone into liquidation.

The company was apparently a ferroprussiate paper manufacturer,

He posed as “Major Kenneth Stewart Gordon, of the Royal Medical Corps” and obtained loggings food and money from a Torquay Hotel. He was sentenced at Devon Assize by Mr Justice Salter to eight months’ hard labour. After being picked up in Leeds

It looks like after he was released from Goal in Exeter in 1928 he was immediately re-arrested and sent back to Scotland to face more charges which appear to relate to selling worthless share certificates

Thanks for sorting out this I think the assumption was the Canadian Pilot was with 421 on Vampires as training at time but now you have provide whole picture
