Update. Dr Lagos does not think it is Greek one, he thinks ir RNAS/RAF aircraft. Thassos closed in 1919

Also, he has heard from locals that the engine was recovered around 70 years ago and fuel tank 30 years ago

So it may be that we have a crash here. Does anyone have 222 Sqn or RNAS Camel losses for this area ? Just a hope!

I have just found out that the Greeks had a number of Sopwith Camels so it may actually be a Greek accient not an British one.

I will pass on infor to Greek contacts

Camel looking likely, I am also in email touch with Dr Lagos (and have asked for any more photos) and a Greek Journalist who is looking to write an article on this.
