What about
J-10 Fagot II
FC-1 Fornet
😀
Where did the F-22 come up ?? Never heard Soko intentions to buy the jet . Any sources?
Since U.S decided not to import the F-22 to the foreign country until 2015, RoKAF stop discussed about F-22 purchasement on public. However, in other side, they are still compares which is good to buy, F-35 or F-22.
Picture from RoKAF official website.
What is all this about F-22? The USA has only recently (last month) confirmed that the F-22 will not be exported. To anyone.
OK, can’t you remember the U.S Congress confirmed that not to export F-22s ’til 2015?
The issue about F-35 was brought out from inspection of the administration conducted by the National Assembly. It was questioned to RoKAF vice-chief staff offce Eun-Ki Kim by Assemblyman, ‘Why RoKAF not considering of F-35 fighter which is cheaper than F-15K, and able to expect lots of advantages from stealth capability.’ And he answered that RoKAF is carefully examine to buy F-35 after 2010s.
However, I firmly believe RoKAF will go purchase the 20 additional F-15K for replace F-4s, first. Then, it will be consider whether RoKAF is going to purchase F-35 or F-22. I guess many of you did not thought about biggest point on this issue, which RoKAF’s biggest consideration in F-X deal after 2010s is whether Japan will purchase F-22 or not.
Since JASDF brought up the issue of F-22 deal with United States, Republic of Korea Air Force seriously examined to buy numbers of stealth fighter rather than going to by 120 F-15K which was planned. As you may heard more than once, it is politically big issue for Republic of Korea that they want to have ‘well-balanced’ military power between Japan, which means that Republic of Korea always consider restraint among RoKF and JSDF.
Besides, LM already began to marketing in RoK that they have displayed F-35 mock-up at Seoul Airshow. So, there would be no more F-15K purchasement after RoKAF gets 60 of them. Then, stealth fighter, F-22 or F-35, should become the issue for RoKAF.
ROKAF was also looking forward of Stealth fighter for a decade, since F-22 / JSF project announced. As you know, Japanese Air Force is considering to buy F-22A. South Korea has an idea that Japanese Air Force will purchase F-22A to air-superior purpose. Which means, to have an restraint power from Japanses air-power, there is no choice, except to buy F-22A at least to secure the air from Japan, for just in case.
Some of you may remember it is on the progress that ROK is developing their own stealth fighter, which is known as KFX project. South Korean government will puts 1.2 billion dollar to develop and begin to manufacture it before 2020. This project has planned to replace F-5 and F-16 Block 32. If this project failed, it is also considering to purchase F-35 to replace KFX project. Even LM had presentation with South Korean government, and displayed mock-up of F-35 at Seoul Airshow.
But, ROKAF didn’t gave up an idea to purchase at least 20~40 or more if Japan purchases F-22A. They were originally planned to buy total 120 of F-15E class Fighter (F-X) before economic crisis in 1997. But it was still planned to purchases 80 or more of F-15K until recently. Some of you could’t really understood why ROK purchased only 20 of additional F-15K (so total will be 60). It is not the budget problem what South Korea has cutted the budget to buy only 20 of additional F-15K, but also watching whether Japan purchases F-22A, or not.
Lots of Korean military analyst thought Japan will buy F/A-18E/F to replace F-4J, but now, there is much possibility to buy F-22A than F/A-18E/F.
Now, this is going to be really interesting to see how South Korean government reacts of Stealth fighter competition in North East Asia. (China develops J-13, J-14; Japan develops stealth fighter known as ‘F-3’, and has planned to buy F-22A; Russia develops PAK-FA)
Cash Crow?
WTF……
Morocco with Rafales will scary many EU mediterranean countries as Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Spain purchased 87 of Eurofighter Typhoon (Tranch 1=20, 2=33, 3=34) and Italy purchased 121(29,46,46).
What EU mediterranean countries scared for? Just Because 18 of Rafale?
That doesn’t make sense at all.

Any corrections ?
South Korean Dok-do class LPD arms with 2 x 30mm Goalkeeper CIWS system.
And there will be 3 of KDX-III build, not 1. (2008, 2010, 2012)

Here is the other good example of empty space for additional Vertical Launcher System, South Korean KD-2 Destroyer.
ROK Navy launched 4th KD-2 Destroyer, “Wang-Gun”, with extra space for additional VLS. (Actually, first 3 of KD-2 Destroyer arms with 32 of VLS. But other 3 KD-2 Destroyer will armed with 64 of VLS.)
Actually, they have prepared this space for arm with 16 of ‘Boramae-1’ (Falcon-1) Ship-to-surface cruise missile and 16 of K-ASROC later. :diablo:
I guess they have planned to left enough space for same (or similar) purpose. (Maybe, Tomahawk?)
Someday, some crazy nation will build a giant flying carrier that can turn into a humungous robot.
That’s impossible one. This humungous career doesn’t even includes a single piece of STEALTH design on it 😀
Stealth is the key :p
Few more pictures have been released of Dok-do class LPD
Enjoy

Greek, Turkish fighter jets collide
Tuesday, May 23, 2006; Posted: 6:28 a.m. EDT (10:28 GMT)
ATHENS, Greece (Reuters) — A Greek and a Turkish fighter jet collided in midair above the southern Aegean island of Karpathos on Tuesday, a Greek defence ministry official said.
“The two jets collided above Karpathos. We don’t know what has happened to the pilots yet,” he told Reuters.
It was not clear what type of planes had crashed.
The Turkish defence ministry was not immediately available for comment.
Archrivals Greece and Turkey regularly criticise each other for causing mock dogfights between warplanes over the Aegean sea.
Greece’s defence ministry says it daily scrambles several fighter jets to intercept Turkish jets that it claims have invaded its airspace.
The two countries, who came close to war as recently as 1996, have considerably improved ties but have not resolved territorial disputes in the Aegean Sea and over the divided island of Cyprus.
F-15K & F-15S contract prices are both about $100 million, but that includes more than just the planes.
That’s true. Both F-15K and F-15T (Singapore) contract also included Offset option, which was 70% of F-15E “Advanced” Strike Eagle package price.
I’m thinking that Saudi Arabia wants to contract Offset option with BAE. BUT, I guess this would be different than both example. They might follows the same way what they used to do with their Weapon trade. Well, I guess you heard about this. All the World knows this kind of Offset deal, “Al-Yamama” :p
Sorry about the unconvenience. Now I have fixed it 🙂
What a great pictures! Thanks a lot to share these pictures with us.
