Hi Tarkey had a look at your shots on the other post and yet again some terrific shots, I will try to make your open day, all depends on my work commitments ( I work for the MOD on Mildenhall ) and being Nightshift on a rolling shift pattern, getting time off can be hard work, thats why i avarage about 3 events a year….But i will try.

Eh, thanks for O.K to download thats great, I have some shots of me taken by the wife but she’s as good at photography as i am at kniting:D
I myself have a Olympus E500 which is fully automatic, which is O.K untill you want to do prop-blur or like me use an add on lens…then everything (focus, appture setting, film speed, lighting ) becomes manual. I think it’s like you say “one hell of a lot of trial and error!” Many thanks again guy …Gary

P.S here’s one of me at Snetterton

Great set of photo’s, Love the Luftwaffe guy (yes that’s me!!) sorry about squinting (I work nightshift and dont get to see the sun much). Those P-51 shots are incredable, if i had more time ( and weren’t in danger of getting run over by traffic) I would have asked you for some tips on photography as im wrestling with my camera at the momment. The event was great, I had never been to the 93rd before, and given finding the place was hard was amazed how many came to the event. Your ground shots portray the event very well also…But the highlight of the day for me was after the P-51s had landed the stewards droped the barriers and we were allowed to get up close and personnel with the aircraft….and to thier credit the public showed due care and reverance to the mighty P-51s….Like i said great photo’s, great event, shame about the wheather…..Gary
