RE: UN security council
With all due respect PLAwolf, but I don’t think that the US has any other responsiblities than to look after the interests of it’s own people, and perhaps that of it’s allies. In my view the US is not responsible for all the bad things in the world (and neither for all that’s good), and is not solely responsible, if at all, for solving the world’s problems.
I do agree with you, however, that the UN is not a very usefull in most respects. In particular the veto power of permanent members of the UNSC has a very negative effect on the way the organization works. While during the Cold War this system undoubtedly helped to prevent the Cold War from ever turning into a ‘Hot War’, the negative effects are clearly distinguishable. Another problem with the UN is that the members are often undemocratic countries, which don’t care about human life, but only about their current regimes remaining in power. The effects of this too, are clearly visible. And lastly, with Lybia becoming the chair of the UN Human Rights Commission I cannot understand how anyone can take that commission serious anymore.
Shalom,
Jonathan

RE: A Few Computer Questions
WinXP may just tbe the problem you’re searching, PII. WinXP doesn’t support all games, and many old games may not run good and maybe not run at all. Also, I don’t see why you would have rpoblems with F-15. I don’t have a 3Dfx card and it looks fine.

RE: Cookies and more
Geforce, I do warn you to watch out with Ad-Aware. First back-up everything you want to delete before you relly delete it. There’s a function for it in Ad-Aware. My dad’s PC was once infected with hundreds of files of spyware. A program even replaced Win-sock with it’s own version! Ad-aware threw it away, but Windows refused to install a new one. I had to format the entire C: drive and reinstall everything thanks to lousy spyware.

RE: Downloading : how dangerous is it?
GZYL, that’s basically what Ad-Aware does.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-09-02 AT 10:31 PM (GMT)]There’s a program called Ad-Aware that checks your system for spyware and the like. I use it for quite a few years now, first on my dad’s computer (which was badly infected with spyware thanks to Kazaa and IMesh) and now on my own. I have no problems with spyware anymore these days. You can find the program at http://www.lavasoftusa.com.
