Thank you, Barry, for your kind words. I have reached the limit on photos to the Forum, but have now switched to this site:

as far as aircraft photos are concerned, and also contribute ship and trains pictures to the associated sites, under my real name. Enjoy (many more Monino pix are on the way when I get time)!

Thanks, Newforest, I am still around but mostly lurking these days.
Regarding books, since I spend all day writing (translating from Swedish) I just don’t have any inclination to write in the limited amount of spare time available to me!
You are, however, quite right, there probably is a book in this story, although the amount of embarrassment caused would probably prevent publication under the Swedish Secrets Act!
The police have now hurriedly been given permission to station their helicopters on a (hopefully secure) military base nearby, which is where they were originally until they were kicked out some time ago. The plot thickens!

Likewise, I admire him and only wish such an apparently generous system applied to me!
Full pay for a year plus jobseekers allowance after VOLUNTARY retirement – I should be so lucky!
I believe he will soon be back flying at least as an FO if his personal account of his circumstances on the PPrune web site is anything to go by.
What’s all this about? I travelled behind 34070 Manston on 14 February, and have a picture to prove that she was running on services that day . . .

Thanks for the reminder, Ren Frew, I was at the Ferigehy Air Park over a year ago and haven’t got round to sorting out my photographs yet! Most of the aircraft can be entered and the Russian interior decor and cockpits are very interesting, visits there are highly recommended!
Some recent pictures from Vnukovo, including Tu-154Ms of various Russian airlines that are already extinct!

Depends on your taste, but I personally found that the Gothenburg show (on my doorstep) presented a better flying display than MAKS 2009, for which I paid a fortune to visit!
No. 114 as it looks today:
