That’s me all over!
Many thanks for the link, Grey Area, I had completely forgotten my own small contribution!

I got that message once yesterday but no problems since then, here in Sweden.

More power to your elbow, LL90, from a far distant admirer of your commitment. Keep up the good work, and I hope that I will one day be able to come over and see it for myself.
I have four Drakens to look after in the Aeroseum in Gothenburg, come over and have a look some time! Our air show on August 29-30 will also be worth visiting, with quite possibly a Draken airborne, along with a Lansen or two!
Swinderby was the location of the last “live” Wellington I ever saw – I think it was in 1956.
While cycling past (from Lincoln to trainspot at Newark) in 1958 I think it was, I am sure I saw a Vampire T.11 crash on to the runway, about half way along – the ambulance rushed to the aircraft, but sadly stayed there for quite a long time.
CADman (post #38) – I have spent the last 10 years collecting and collating the first flight dates of prototypes and 1st production aircraft from 1903 to date. If you come over to Gothenburg (send me a PM) i will allow perusal of the three very thick binders containing the information.
Also don’t forget that the Gothenburg Air Show will take place on August 29 and 30 this year! (Chance to plug it, as I will be a steward there).
As a former resident of RAF CONINGSBY, I cringe every time a so-called aviation enthusiast uses the wrong spelling!
While I’m on the subject of spelling, how many times on this Forum has HANGAR become “hanger”!
“The aircraft will be shown both as a static and flying display.”
So what are you worried about?
The last I heard was that it was up for sale, uncompleted:

I saw it at Reno a few years ago and it’s not really a replica at all, just a collection of bits and pieces with a vague resemblance to the real thing.
Hello, swerve, no, I don’t think so, but at least they promised to credit the picture to me! Of course, as I am in Sweden, I can’t see it on TV but a friend of mine in the UK assures me it was used, as a backdrop to the newsreader yesterday.
I need to join a picture agency, I think!
My photo of the Malaspina Castle is being used by the BBC in their news reports today:

My reference to the second prototype was taken from the contemporary Aeroplane Monthly magazine.
A cup of tea in Sweden would cost you 4 or 5 quid, as would a pint of beer! Count your blessings in the UK with an abundance of aircraft museums and spotting spots!
