John Trent the F/E went to Aer Turas who have just gone out of buisness, its a hard life.
I have flown with Air 2000 a few times and they are pretty efficient.Cabin crew now have pink uniforms, stewards as well.
I have now flown twice with Excel and have been very impressed.
Mongu, it is a Convair 440 i think. It was bought from a Portugese
freight company.I seem to remember it either has an engine problem or an undercarraige problem, perhaps both.
Incidentally i believe the Electras are operated without a flight engineer.
EGNM, yes it is an excellent place for photos, not such a great variety as Majorca, but more relaxing.
The highlight for me was the Cygnuas Air DC-8.
mikeconnell, i have not bought the latest edition as i have just come back from a week in Lanzarote, a grand place for spotting and photography.
I shall rush out and buy a copy, i am always interested in the older jets.
Perhaps it was G-BJZD which was c/n 46970.
Incidentally Novair had a very early D/C 10, one of the first five built i think.

RE: Scandinavian MD80’s
If you have the exact date and flight number you could write to the
SAS public relations department and ask them.
RE: Your Favorite Jet Airliner
Has to be the DC8 especially the stretched 61 and 63 series.
Was lucky enough to fly on two of Worldways aircraft in 1990.
RE: Which WWII aviator/aviatrix interests you most?
Every single one of Bomber Command. To take off in the dark knowing you
faced anything up to ten hours in a freezing cold metal tube, never
knowing when or if you would see England again or if you would suffer
horrific injuries.Well, they were far braver men than i can imagine.
And to think they never got a medal. What a disgrace.
RE: TNT’s first TU 204-120C
If i remember correctly i saw the prototype at Farnborough in 1990.
I believe they had Russian perm engines.
Anyone know if the TNT planes have RR engines?
Looks nice though.
RE: Help on Virgin fleet
I think G-VSSS is now TF-ATW with Air Atlanta but operates in a Virgin
c/s on the Manchester-Orlando route.
RE: Airline flight codes
Transjet seem to have had quite a few problems in the last few months.
I believe they are owned by the same person that owned Air Ops,who
flew those lovely Tri-Stars in various colour schemes a few years ago.
RE: Airline flight codes
I think swl is a Swedish airline Transjet who are rapidly getting a reputation as being a tad unreliable.Operate MD80 series aircraft and B747 classics.
