    If its got a mid upper turret then it should have fishtail exhausts.!Other than that I want one!!

    I went there in September 1964!My part in Sukarnos demise!Worked on the transit aircraft flight ,24hrs on and 48hrs off what a holiday !!RAAF had lots of Sabres then some canberras and DC-3 s.Used to get a twice a week RNZAF Bristol vibrator and lots of odd American types .Also handled the first 707 I had ever seen ,full of Ghurka recruits going to Ipoh for jungle training.Transit flight also had a 20mmm Oerlikon gun for “defence”!!It had to be manned at dawn and dusk!!No training or anything just put the ammo drum on pull a lever and theres the trigger !!

    Depends upon the salinity and temperature of the water.The visibility was excellent for 75 metres so possibly the structure is in good shape.I have dived on an aircraft wreck that crashed in 73 and this was twenty years after ,only 40 metres and it was completely covered by corals and corroded in places.

    The street view is out of date but here you go 12degs 50 mins N, 100degs 54 mins E. It shows a Fairchild provider but that went ages ago and there have been several since .

    There are tow more fan trainers there now.Also a covered storage area has been built and shelving installedwith many previously unseen parts displayed.As far as I can see all the spares are American in origan and a lot are new parts such as the P&W cylinder heads and others to numerous to add!!

    I was in Nimjegan in 1994 for the 50th anniversary ,there was a parade of tanks etc over the bridge and I was amongst the thousands of dutch people many who were in tears….so was I couldn’t help it!Lord Carrington was in the lead tank as he was on the day .

    I was showing a pilot acquaintance round U-Tapao(Thailand)airfield ten days ago when I spotted a splash of dayglow between a couple of hangers.It was a Grumman Albatross ,there is already one as gate guardian at the entrance to the Thai navy site .It shows on google earth.
