So a mob of South Yorkshire police came down south and searched his apartment looking for …….something on his PC?Bit heavy handed I would say,and only the one alleged offence ,maybe they were not fans of his!
Are there no pictures of Ballykelly out there!Lots of foreign NATO types used to visit from time to time.Anyone ever see the Norwegian Catalinas?Kreigsmarine Noratlas.s Gannets,Portugese Venturas?Did they never get to St Mawgan?
I visited Portland bill lighthouse about 1994/5 and had a nice gentleman give me the tour,I remarked on the immaculate condition of a couple of big compressors,”yes he said they and the receivers were for the foghorn, you can have them if you like the foghorns going electronic”.Obviously I could not do that but I oft wondered what happened to them, they could hardly have any run time at all!!

As far as I know they are all out of service.
I landed in U-Tapoa from a oil rig back about 2006 and they were all lined up just south of the civilian terminal. There is one on display at the entrance to the civilian terminal and the rest are under shelters nearbye! The aircraft carrier never moved and sits in the dock in Sattahip harbor, all can be seen on google earth.
Landed there a couple of times in shacks ,once ended up right on the end of the runway and a tractor had to come and tow us back as we could not turn round!Brakes were hot on that landing!!Has the runway been extended since 1960?

For those interested in the boat its GRP and 8.2 metres long with a 225HP outboard Honda that is a superb engine ,has not failed to start yet!Petrol is a lot cheaper here but it does use a bit at “full speed ahead”!Just idling along is quite economical.I have a fishfinder and VHF fitted and carry a hand held GPS .Six lifejackets ,first aid box and fire extinguisher, also has a toilet but it obviously made for small Thai women such as my wife for I cannot get inside it(1.87metre tall)!!
Ah well ,I only arrived in Plymouth in 77 so a bit of a “johnny come lately”!!As for fracking sites I would think that’s more a seismic thing rather than mapping. What happened to the scare about radioactive granite that was around years ago?
Its a borderline thing.Bude and Launceston are both in Cornwall! Also its Devon not Devonshire!
Magic place for bookworms such as myself! As is Northumberland!
TT18 ,it was used by Hunters MK9/10 .I served on 8 sqdn and we had our share of fires after a start .One of our tools was an asbestos glove to hold over the starter exhaust in the event of lingering flames.Fumes were nasty as well. Our plastic refill bottles were kept out in the open ,about 35degs C!!!
