Just finished “A phantom pilot in Vietnam”written by major John Trotti,USMC.This is one mans view of the airial war in Vietnam and is a very well written book .First printed in 1984.

Starter crew on shacks at BKK .Two times I was standing in front when the bomb load s fell to the tarmac!!One lot was sonobouys and depth charges and the second time was a large torpedo and other stuff.Amazing how fast you can run if you try! Hunters in Aden had old cable and especially in the wings and on several occasions things would drop of (fuel tanks!!) and even a salvo of rockets as one went down the runway!Never liked standing in front of them when they were loaded!!

Apparently Clarkson himself was a union member (NUJ) and even stood on the picket line with other Journalists over poor wages.Some time ago in Rotheram or somewhere up north!!!

Dont know if I have posted these before but I will again!The airial circus of He 111s and the Buchons,Spits and the B-25 camera ship appeared over RAF Oakington and surrounding area one late afternoon .Wonder if they kept the “Takeouts”?
went with wife and nephews to see “Reborn”last week,it was dubbed in Thai but still very funny .Thais love Rowan Atkinson and Mr Bean is always on TV here!!
