    Shack zip file

I have twice downloaded this file from the FS site and it will not load.Says “Air file”damaged or corrupted, there are a couple of years between downloads so something is not quite right, can anyone help with this? After downloading do you simply put it in FS2004 and thats it or is it more complicated?

    Hooe lake

I hope I am wrong on this ! I lived near Hooe lake in the late 80s and walked it many times,do not recall seeing any of this then. This was a place where boats were broken up and scrapped and the alloy does look very heavy duty.Mount Batten is only half a mile away so anything is possible I suppose.

    Over 65

I suppose if the pilot passes three meds a year then he must be OK for flying duties, the incident of the wrong runway, would be interesting to find out how old the second officer was and why he didnt spot it? As an aside to this I wonder how many pilots have been affected by Deep vien thrombosis ,you dont hear of many keeling over from it unlike passengers, wonder why that is?!!

    A 330

Irrational, perhaps!Late June I flew in a A 330 both ways, never even thought off the the Air france crash .Air travel its only a means to an end!More chance of being hit by a car or being in a traffic accident than an air crash, especially here in Egypt where I am working.I risk my life each day!!!On the roads I mean!

    Over Torquay

May have been the C-47 which had done a fly past for armed forces day parade on Plymouth Hoe.It flew very low over my daughters house while I was in the garden, also in Plymouth. This was the same one that had been at Kemble the previous weekend. Is this with the BoB flight?

    Cold war

    Dear Curly Boy,
if you had seen the ops room chart on soviet submarine dispositions around the UK (or the USA for that matter)in the early 60s you might reconsider your words. It may look like posturing to you but it was serious business for those who flew every day.It was a battle,to combat the soviets who would love to have turned the rest of Europe red .dont forget that!! I also would love to see a shackelton airborne in the UK along with the restored Vulcan!!

    Neville Shute books

I recently found two of his books in the second hand market here in Alex.”Requiem for a wren”,this is really very good and has some references to the fleet air arm at Ford.Second one was about an airline pilot in Aus who goes to Tasmania to help a friend who has crashed in a remote area, title escapes me here at work but I will get it for those interested!Long time since I read any of his books and enjoyed both of them.

    Kemble ,20th June

I realise this is a bit late but…..!This was my first air display since the late 1980s and I enjoyed it immensly seeing so many fast jets.I was with a group of ex 8 sqdn guys from 1961 vintage and it was really great to talk about our time on the Hunters in Aden. The highlight for me was the Typhoon ,this is an incredible machine.Anyway this is just to say if you were not there go next year!!

    Cosford Lincoln

I entered the RAF in June 1958 and there was a Lincoln in the Hinadi hanger then, which one would this have been?Of course it could have been a lanc ,memory is not that good!!Now that day was special,we were allowed to walk round and enter aircraft ,first time for me and I was hooked!! I think there was also a mosquito ,can anyone elucidate ?
