“Stand against the whites”
The land went to his cronies who havnt a clue what to do with it.Africans dont know how to farm on a large scale .Why would a president want to stand against whites who where born in Zimbabwe and making the country prosperous? This was a deliberate act to ruin the country,he knows that britain will pump money in when he is gone so he doesnt care!!!Never mind SA will probably invade soon and get him out

Zimbabwe
African problem, ex colonial power is the right word so nothing to do with us.Destroy his air force ,start dropping food ,destroy the army barracks and police stations, then send in a rescue force from african nations. No whites to be involved.Country is bankrupt anyway so some action needs to be taken ,and swiftly.

Tobbaco fields
Is there a food crop giving a higher return than tobbaco?Perhaps governments could subsidise tobbaco farmers to grow more food until everyones given up smoking!

Scimitar Khormaksar
Heres my other photograph! The undercarriage actually broke through the road and fractured a water main!!I also remember that there was not a lot of damage to it.

Varsity cockpit from Torbay
I visited in the early 90s and did have a conversation with Kieth fordyce. The Varsity cockpit was not a real cockpit but a built up cockpit which was on wheels(for moving around!)and used as a crew trainer ,all the electrics worked and engine starts could be done with resultant noises!Faults could be fed in from an outside panel. I used to service it along with a Link trainer at RAF Oakington back in 1965/6.I am told it is now at Caernarfon air world and appears in some kind of WW2 Diarama!!
Fire Terror
You can read about it on Pprune,it was a lightening strike with St elmos fire coming off the engines.
hangers to housing
I read that the old airfield at Oakington will become a new suburb for Cambridge, after being a prison and a refugee centre!Oh well, maybe that buried Stirling will turn up!
Air Chief Marshal
Thanks for the information!Sir Rex Roe,well Wingco when I was on 204.I guess I flew about 150 hours with him as captain and he was a real gentleman.I got him in trouble in El Adem by “borrowing ” an army generals cap and afterwards he set me up and made a joke of it!He was my hero !
Service Pals
If you use the search facilitythere is a forum with over 500 entries on Lancasters! Not all WW2 but certainly quite a few!The forum is called”lancasters galore!
midlands scrapyard
There was an aluminium smelter in Rugeley Staffordshire,I and a friend where looking round and came across the centre section of a harrier, this was the main engine part of the fuselage minus wings cocpit and tail which we could not see, also nearby was the remains of a “Red Arrows Gnat”.This was 1975.I thought at that time the engine would have been classified?
