Perhaps we should just have a “gentleman’s agreement” to throw in a reasonably easy one every 3rd or 4th post.
But cthornburg has the con.
All right, I’ll stick my neck out. I don’t think this one is too easy, but it is accessible so I also don’t think it is too hard. Let’s get some feed-back on perceived level of difficulty.
While the Spitfire and Hurricane were a bit of a joke, I can see where dan_pub is coming from. I started to play recently after having fortuitously being able to identify a couple of posts, but for most I have no idea and I don’t even know where to start looking. But if obscure machines are not posted, how will we learn about them? Perhaps what would help is some posts with more accessibility, perhaps with an unwritten agreement that players who have made a correct identification within the last few posts hold off for a while to give others time, along with the hints already discussed.
The early bird gets … , The game is to the…, first come…, and so on, but maybe this will make up for it.
Well, there is a hint at http://spitfiresite.com/2011/03/spitfire-75-years-anniversar.html that is suggestive.
I hate to present the wild guess that this might possibly be the Spitfire prototype K5054 prior to first flight, 1936, but I can’t resist.
I think the proposed rules are pretty good, with the understanding that the poster can include more hints if he/she thinks the challenge is particularly difficult. I also suggest that if the answer has to be given by the poster, the next is automatically open house.
As for the current challenge, is it perchance German?
“The hills are alive with the sound of music…”
But not with answers.
Just a little something to keep the thread alive.
Yes. The surveyor. Your turn.
I’ll keep it alive with this.
Surely not as simple as a Stearman model 75?
How about a Bloch 220 variant?
Yes it is. Yours.
A little twin.
