I might be being generous, but it’s probably nothing more than positive MOD media people being given crap information by their colleagues elsewhere (who are the actual source of the problem!)
MOD’s record in this area remains the polar opposite of the US. I follow the JPAC team’s searches on the flickr photo site. They are everywhere. We really have no excuse. The CWGC however has my full respect.
I’ll look out for the Britain at War edition.
Thanks everyone for the input. Including it the Bomber Command group might not be right it seems..but I assume the aircraft likely had wartime service?
For some reason I assumed glider operations would have ended with the end of WW2! It never occured to me it might be being used for that post-war.
Someone posted on my flickr photo of her that she had gone. Sad to hear it and sad to read that opportunities to save her were denied.
..and Dan Snow’s Twitter, with some pics.
Thanks chaps
I think you will find what you are looking for here
Good link that, thanks for posting…
Apologies for bouncing an old thread but incase anyone else ever tries to research this one, there were two Mustangs from Kingscliffe that came down near Werrington, Peterborough.
Nelson’s crash (02 August 1944 in 44-13832) in which he was KIA and another which bellylanded on Bungalow Farm, which is likely this one:
44-14197 P-51D 376 E9-M , Volkman Lt. Robert R Mary, Jane II (Named for sister). Written off by Volkman on 29 October 1944 in crash landing at Newborough due to engine failure.

So when do our Rivet Joints arrive?
Blimey I’ve just clocked that the Sentinal is going as well.
Technology methinks is moving a little swifter than procurement practice.
No 101 as it stands now (the personnel in the truck), it looks like some of them are Italian POWs.
Thanks
Ansons of No.2 ANS is my line of enquiry. It doesn’t have to be books no.
Will look up the Air Britain publication.
One and only bump for my own post.
Someone must know?
Thanks
Thanks. Not sure that’s how the review was written in the advert! Will have a look later…
I think some of you may be slightly deluded as to how open “the world” is to journalists……
I’m sure the Indian’s love the Pakistani articles and are lapping them up.
My favourite bits are the news pages.
I remember a few years back there was a mossie recovered from a sand bar of the coast of kings lynn. does anyone know what happened to the wreckage, i had photos of it as it arrived on the docks. also regarding recent posts are there any details of any other aircraft of the cost of Norfolk, as i am a bit vauge.
This could be the Mossie wreckage that was sitting in the old EW shed at Wyton…..as of two years ago.
As such it’s “owners” will be either MOD/Wyton Pathfinder museum or vaguely, you could try the Stirling Project folks for info.
Do you think the other photos showing damaged aircraft are part of the Israeli uprising?
