Have you tried searching on flickr?
Lots of CWGC photos on there. Depends if the photographer has done the right tags etc but worth a try.
Lets be honest, its a terrible venue … access is just appalling by car. They should find somewhere else with rail and better road links.
Parking and mud aside, I would rather RIAT stayed at Fairford, I like the area. It’s never a problem for us, we camp nearby and get up early. If it was at Cottesmore, it’d be easier transport wise, that I’d agree. There are plenty of nearby locations to run park and rides.
For those of us camped close by, a few flypasts late in the day(when it was cancelled) would have been some compensation. As it was and desperate to get some return, we stayed for departures on Monday. That was good, but very much what it said on the tin. Our friends that came with us left on the Saturday afternoon. We rushed out to buy tickets for the Sunday when I read on the internet that you would need tickets beforehand, but alas, it was not to be and at 1600 it was cancelled.
From the RIAT site, photo taken on the Saturday:

We were ok though, we had no children to entertain, our accommodation was cheap and we weren’t pressured for time, but I feel sorry for all those who travelled a long way. I ran into one family scouring the fenceline on Saturday just hoping for a glimpse of something with their two little lads. 🙁
I’m sure the local zoo, Fairford and Lechlade all did very well out of it, but it’s in their interests for a successful event next year.
Thank you all.
Thanks for the answers.
I think it’s a fair statement to say that the purpose of these domes has been neglected historically.
I think you have misunderstood him, he says that the Mig-25 shot down a FA-18 so how is he wrong?
IRAQI PILOT wasn’t wrong. I agree.
Hi Lotus72,
At the moment, nothing to report – she’s still in the hanger, intake covers and shoe covers in place.
Jim
I’ll get some kip now then…was scanning the sky just incase I missed out. Typhoons are busy today.
Cheers Jim
Anyone manning the Vulcam?
I am checking three different forums, just in case and can only conclude that everyone is at Bruntingthorpe.
That auction is “in person”?
Just brilliant to look through, all those BMW motorcycles!
You can buy a jeep, a 75mm gun, then another jeep and an ammo trailer! There’s at least one slightly rusty Panzerfaust tube and in terms of keeping the link to this forum, a drop tank of some sort.
Trespassing on Donna Nook is stupid.
I like looking at the UE sites too. Some idiot had been on RAF Sculthorpe recently. They seemed to be aware of some of it’s uses and had taken photos of discarded live ammo cases. They should not have been in there and I’m surprised they weren’t carted off by MPs.
Thanks Peter that gives me a new search method.
Judging by the markings on the tail she would have been a GH leader.
What is GH? Gee/Oboe?
A couple more…

The T-33:

Thanks go to the chap that pointed this thread out to me. I was going to post these ASAP after my Dad showed me them. RIP O.H-B and all those lost this weekend.
Haydon-Baillie in his Sea Fury, WH589, Duxford, believed 1973. I have tagged the photo of the T-33 the White Knight, as the Knight, is white, but if it’s the other way round please tell me.
Enjoy.
