#2. Wright flyer, model K (????)
#3Lockheed P2 (?)
#6 Vought SBU (!)
Oh well, I got one right at least. 😎
Leave the car in the driveway dear, the garage just became my new hanger. 😀
Curtiss HS-2L. But that is strictly a guess.
Number one, Curtiss HS series flying boat???????
Number six, Naval Aircraft Factory F-5L
John Williams’ 1941 march.
They go back in time? Been done before, I believe in the original series of Star Trek too. Could be interesting to see this one though.
Don’t know that it’s a “back in time” episode. It looked more like an “alternate history” type thing that would lead to a “back in time” episode. Suffice it to say that it intrigued me enough that I’m going to check it out anyway.
Thats how they ended off last season. Home at last, Enterprise is unable to raise Starfleet command and all Earth orbiting space stations are missing. They dispatch a shuttlecraft to investigate and it is intercepted and fired on by a P-51 over San Francisco.
I would guess what you really have to look at is whether or not closing these bases would adversly affect the local economy. When hurricane Andrew destroyed the city of Homestead, Homestead AFB was already on the base closings list. However it was decieded to rebuild and reopen the base to inject much needed money and create jobs in the local economy. To do otherwise would have signed Homesteads death warrant. Today a vibrant and growing community exist where once there was only rubble.
What is the current, overall situation in Pensacola?
Would the rebuilding of the base help in the economic and material recovery of the surrounding area?
If yes, then I would consider my tax dollars would be well spent rebuilding Pensacola N.A.S.
Summer 1986, the Collings foundations B-17 Nine O Nine. It was a sunday evening and the sun was setting and I just could not belive I was seeing what I was seeing. It was quite picturesque. The photo was taken the next afternoon at Bradley field and I still could not belive I was seeing an actual B-17. To this day I get a little chill when I see her and remember that summer.

Captain Jack Sparrow
Well I was hoping you would come up with the characters name rather than the actor. It was Captain William “Wild Bill” Kelso.
I obviously made that one to easy, I haven’t even left yet. When I get back on sunday I’ll try to dig out something a little more obscure.
For extra credit though, which character in 1941 uttered the line?
Dog Soldiers??
Isn’t anyone else playing……………..my go
“Do you even know your daughter? oh shes not in a comma is she?”
Ok, try this one:
“The japs tried to bomb San Francisco last night. Two squadrons of jap zero’s, I’ve been tracking them ever since. Lost ’em somewhere over Fresno.”
I’ll be gone till sunday so I won’t be able to answer till then.
