I did a quick Google search and came up with the following information. “Mi Amigo” (B-17G 42-31322) of the 364 BS, 305 BG was returning from a raid on Aalborg when it crashed into a hillside near the park. An account of the crash and the ceremony can be found at:

Yes, I realize that. I was hoping that by putting up the link that it would clear up the situation a little bit. However it seems that I’ve muddied up the waters even more. Pardon me while I go shoot myself.:( 😉

Yup, I gotcha. I went back and sure enough they have two Spits in the USAF museum. Now that everyone has looked at the wrong page, try this one:

Does that look a little better everyone?

Can anybody please support this with a photo?

According to the USAF museum website it has been painted to represent an aircraft from the 14th photographic squadron based at mount farm. There is a picture with the text at:

If thats the same show that was on the History channel over here a few months back, then I highly recommend it. However I don’t recommend strapping a 20mm cannon to a 55 gallon drum and touching it off. (Like they did out on the ice.) 😉

When I was growing up I lived on a steady diet of Tintin and Asterix the Gaul. I still enjoy sitting down with both on occasion.

    Happy 75 years Tintin:)

Sorry peeps – For me it is Terry Pratchett. Not bothered what you think about him: he doesn’t fit into your criteria but he makes me laugh, makes me think, keeps me entertained.

    Flood.

Summers are much easier. Call outs are infrequent and overtime does not stretch on for days at a time (like this past week has been). During the winter I have no life at all as the changing weather makes it impossible to make any sort of plans in advance.

As for Terry Pratchett keeping you entertained. If he did’nt there would’nt be much point in reading his books, would there.:D 😉

    Here’s to warmer days:

No I did’nt. I find it surprising that they are considering his view on “Hollywood”. Raise the Titanic was so awful that it really soured him on movie deals.

I just picked up a copy of his latest novel, Trojan Odyssey. I’m looking forward to reading it but I’m currently reading Chindi by Jack McDevitt. Clive is next on my list though. Tough to get any reading done right now because the weather has been so lousy. I plow snow for the state of Vermont and we’ve been real busy lately 🙁 Oh well, warmer days are coming.:)

Damn, you beat me to it. 🙂 If you like science fiction I would highly recommend Jack McDevitt. (no it’s not star wars/star trek space soap opera drivel) Moonfall is particularly good as is Deep six. However I like all his books. Cussler is still my favorite though.;)

Abbey (and Charley) have a better car because they NEVER EVER get left at home. If puppy ain’t happy and comfy, NOBODY’S happy or comfy.:D Seriously though, we use that van for long trips like going to Maine or Florida. Simply a matter of having room for all of us. As for snow, they just love it. They don’t care if it’s over their heads or not. They just dive in head first and start burrowing tunnels. You would’nt think Corgi’s would make such wonderful little tunnel rats, but they do.:)
