Cool video. Reminds me of the flights I made from the airport many years ago on single engine lights. Cheers for sharing and reminding of happy day’s.
Does anyone know where the Skyship Gondola went ?
Brilliant links guys. Many thanks for your links and time taken posting.
It was the crest that was required to blow up and put under a 1/32 Tornado that a friend is building/converting/a lot of scratch building. :diablo:
Out of interest what are the oher options to ebay ?
I previously used to list items on ebay but now also dont really bother as the end result is often little for the hassle after the fees at both ends have been taken out.
I am 99.9 percent sure that your picture is in the book shown in this link. Sadly I loaned my copy a few years ago and never had it returned.

No, they weren’t. The Mk.21 introduced a slightly redesigned wing, which remained the same size throughout the production run.
Fair point forgot about them. Maybe because they dont look like a proper Spitfire :p
slightly larger wings.
Anon.
I thought all Spitfire wings were the same size, well all bar the wingtips ie clipped or extended High Altitude versions. Were Griffon wings really bigger and if so in what way ?
Regards
Yes it would have been. Over the years they were sponsored by Cannon and Unipart, they also displayed with no sponsor and in the sponsor title areas on the airframe the name skyhawk or skyhawks.
I believe its this chap here.
Sorry if this sounds as though I am speaking out of turn. But when this happened last year forum members mentioned that other museums had secured the nose gear of their Vulcans to the ground and that perhaps it was something you should get sorted asap.
Should this not have been a priority for the museum before this winter and before doing things such as opening engine bays, repainting Meteors, Whirlwinds etc ?
It seems that something to guarantee the long term preservation of the airframe has been ignored.
Also look at it the other way. What would H&S say about going on top of a Vulcan in the snow ? Ive done it in the dry and can vouch that its a long way of the ground.
Was thinking more along the lines of AOP9. Sorry I should have been more specific. How is this for a match?

Hello everyone, it’s my first post here.
Can anyone identify this panel currently on ebay. I’ve looked at hundreds of photos of WWII and early post war aircraft with no joy yet. It’s just under a metre long.
Cheers
Ben
Seems very much like an engine side cowl from an Auster.
Patience young padawan – all will become clear!
The new Key Publishing, Airfix magazine to forward the modelling forum into something approaching more than two users ? :diablo:
No nothing like it Paul. I rather like the one you show an image off though.
Found myself reworking the original 1960s Battle of Britain Quad movie poster. An original will set you back around £600. Ouch!
Have you just touched up or started from scratch ?
The Battle of Britain poster I am still hunting for (and I hope to christ I havn’t thrown it) is a ghastly orange and black coloured poster showing german bombers attacking london. Not the most atractive artwork Ive ever seen from the film but still its a genuine article.
