T-50’s secondary combat capability and non-Chinese provenance would be major selling points, I expect. Pakistan doesn’t have many options going forward to mitigate its dependence on China. Scrounging F-16s will only get you so far.
Guess you do not get the whole point of Pakistan eventually manufacturing the JF-17.
By Block III almost all of it (bar engines that are Russian) will be entirely be able to be supported in Pakistan. No dependence on anyone at all.
China provided the basics for Pakistan to become self sufficient in maintaining this fighter.

Real spokesman, but his tweets don’t say what you think they do. Read more carefully. He’s quoting a statement by the minister which is critical of the MRCA acquisition process, & in favour of government to government purchases. I.e. he’s praising & explaining what Modi has just done, not saying the licence-building deal is dead. Loyalty to his boss, is all.
I think you may be reading too much into things.
It’s over
OK, lets see what pans out in the next couple of days, but I am confident you will hears something official shortly,
I think when the Defence Minister says there is no point in the process you can be allowed to make a few educated assumptions.

MMRCA now officially dead according to Indian MOD spokesman
Indian MOD Spokesman tweeting that MMRCA competition is now dead. This government to government purchase will be it.
3 JF-17s attending Paris Air Show this year. One will partcipate in the flying display.
Argentinian delegation has returned from China and held discussion on JF-17 however they could only see the simulator. Next trip is being scheduled for Pakistan to see the actual fighter in action and some comparative tests (maybe with a Mirage or F-16?)
The plane fits the Argentinean capability requirements, however there are too many unknowns for Argentina from the Russian engines to Chinese avionics.

I would argue Russian/Chinese supplier would be the most reliable for Argentina considering the Falklands issue. Tests against Mirages makes sense for them.
Not at all, but helps if it is at least vaguley relevant to Military Aviation News. Call me old fashioned.
“This gets kind of tedious.” This is a discussion thread, last time I checked.

I think Pakistan may end up dumping the MI-35 option and just going for AH-1Z/Z-10 combo supported by armed Fennecs as scouts.
Pairing a western high end system with more numerous chinese system seems to be par for the course in the Pak Mil
