    More of XP915

Two shots: one in threatening mood at Abingdon BoB 1967 and also on a roundabout in Cheshire, presumably, en route Woodford.

    Another view of G-BHDK’s arrival

We don’t get this quality in the circuit these days!

    Colerne Airfield

I have a particular interest in the history of RAF Colerne, does anyone have any old images of that airfield?

I remembered that you were particularly interested in the airfield, after your response. These shots show a little more of the field and what an interesting place (one way and another!) that Colerne was in 1967.

You need to thank my brother for these from 1967.

    Train to Legends

Curiously, the IWM site does not mention the local station, Whittlesford, which has been suggested in this thread. Presumably, most visitors are not considered up to a 1.5mile walk! (There is no bus between Whittlesford Station and the airfield.) Whittlesford is on the Liverpool St. – Cambridge line.

    The Last Mk 32

Was this the last Mk 32? G-APAU, ostensibly of Midland Air Cargo, pictured looking a little sorry for itself at Lasham in May 1973.

    Hermes Fin

I heard a story ages ago that the Hermes came with a tail fin, but it was subsequently lost, not sure if rumour or fact?

The fin certainly arrived and was restored, or at least repainted, as shown by the picture I took in July 1981.
