Nice Herk and Spartan, Pete. What equipment are you using and what PP software?

    Hi Mate,

    I was using a Nikon D2x, with a 70-200 AF-s Vr F2.8 with a 1.7x Teleconverter attached.

I use Nikon capture for the initial Raw conversion, do the levels and curves in there and any distortion control. Then save the image as a Tiff and open in CS5 to do the sharpening and any Noise reduction.

Glad that you all like the images 🙂

Considering the weather etc i was very pleased 😀

It took off just after 9:16 in the morning, i was pitched up enjoying a cuppa and it taxied past me and took off banked left at end of the runway and was the last we saw of it

Thanks for the positives all 🙂

Yep I agree with that first Reds pic. Also think the Typhoon is spot on and to get Jonathon and Miss D as you did was superb. Biggin can be very difficult with the angle of the light.
What spec lens were you using just as a matter of interest?

    Hi Mate

    All shots were on a D2x with a 70-200 Af-S/Vr I, with a 1,7x teleconvertor on it

Glad you all like the shots 😀

There is a later mark on display in Hendon, but that is about it….I think, though I am sure someone will correct me. I did hear of one a few years ago, but nothing became of it.

I agree, simply being able to see these wonderful aircraft is simply fantastic and should never be taken for granted. I have worked with R4118 for 6 years now and really feel privilaged in what I do. Haveing a very nice owner, like Peter Vacher, is alway a great bonus too!

i too had heard about a stuka being restored

again never heard anything other then the start

    shame

Not that I’m doubting it (well perhaps;)) but has anyone ever seen an image of this aircraft in flight? I recall some taxiing pictures in FP about 10 years ago and a couple of cockpit shots, but actually in the air…

last time it was flown i believe is when it arrived at the field…

So I have foundout what these ‘UK firsts’ were… there was me getting excited about perhaps the J29 Tunnan/Lansen pair or maybe even the Swiss Mirage 111 (CAA allow this??) and the outcome was… (drum roll please…) a ‘special’ King Air & a DA 40 whatever that is. 😡

    Hey ho…

    one Da40

wouldnt have thought this was special tho :/

Have to say respect to you Merkle, to me it looks like a write off and to forget it but kudos if you decide to keep at it

No, she has not flown with the new tail.

There where plans to let the Buchon preform some engine runs during the open door, but this did not happen. The mechanics of Vormezeele had much work during the last few weeks. They have put the T28 Trojan N377WW in the air for the first time last week since it was imported from the US. After a testflight, it flew in at Braschaat on saturday and so made it’s first flying appearance for the general public. Also The Vormezeele team worked hard on the P51D Mustang PH-VDF which got airborne again for the first time after some major repairs on friday the 18th. The Mustang made a flyby at braschaat during this first flight on friday to mark the start of the the fly-inn.

    So they are very busy.

    Stieglitz

imo they got thier prioities wrong, obviously they own the aircraft and can do what they like with it, alot more P51’s and T28’s around then airworthy buchons…

shame but cant be helped that they neglect the aircraft (obviously she is cared for but having not flown for 20 years hardly loved) , you can almost hear her scream to get airbourne…

We do have close conections to RNHF for very clear reasons, (its big and grey with navy markings) and last year we operated from Yeovilton so we could steal their fuel its cheaper than at Bournemouth! and the landing fees where 0 as opposed to Bournemouths £275. and we may operate again this year for time at Yeo.? I dont think at present the Navy’s budget for HF would be allowed to increase threefold to take on CVIX.

A question, Does anyone have a servicable inflight refuelling probe for a Vixen ours is corroded so we are not able to fit it.

    P-k,

Just wanted to add that I am a big fan of CVIX and would love to see her in the air again, I was at Biggin on Sunday last year and was gutted when she went U/s

heres hoping for you to be airbourne again soon!
