sorry it we respray again it will be a colourful squadron markings but we have no plans for any more resprays for at least 2 years
last saturday 458 was started for a static reheat demo for a aviation group but only on number one engine has we only have limited supply of avpin rmc

returning 458 back to bear metal is not and option for us as there are only 5 of us. because as mjr so rightly says it is a momoth task as my self and crew know from past 5 resprays that we have done since i have own her. it takes 20 weeks of saturdays just to rub down prepare and respray one side and thats with good weather
its great to know that there will be another live lightning in the uk if there is anything we can do to help with loan of any of our equipment just shout

thats right i can/t have public open days as the airfield is under caa rules but i do have private members days for invited guests

and since that film with tony hulls 458 made another film with myself and martin shaw in august 2006 which was shown on discovery real time dec 2006 and yes 458 is still live with four high speed runs in 2008 and more planned and also static reheats would like to do more but we have a very small amount of avpin for engine starts rmc owner of 458
jimmys last live lightning run
in august 2004 when we celebrated 50th of the first flight of the p.1b with xs458 i invited jimmy to be our guest and to honour the occasion i asked him to pull the paper off the fin to unvail the big 50th then we surprise him by telling him that he was making a high speed run with brian carrol in the l/h seat sadly for both of them its was to be there last time that they where in a live lightning i always remember this day because there combined age was 150 years plus and for the orange flying suit jimmy wore for the run when they where both together in the cockpit just before start up i went up the ladder and said to them both dont get any ideals about having i trip somewhere bring her back brian!S an
