Hi All,
After watching the Germany vs Algeria game the obvious advantage given to Germany on many dubious ref decisions, I am sorry but I am suspicious about FIFA telling all the refs to give advantage to the lower fancied teams as this has been a theme all through the tournament. Algeria had quite rightly two goals disallowed for offside yet it was a very, very close call but I wonder what would have happened if it had been Germany would they have been allowed ??
Both Jérôme Boateng and Mesut Özil should have been booked in the 2nd half of extra time, Boateng forpulling an Algerian forwards shirt preventing a goal scoring opportunity and Özil for impeding the Algerian goalkeeper. The German team can play better but although they didn’t have the run of play during the game it was like they treated the Algerians with scorn and never took them serious IMO the Algerians had played outstanding all through the tournament, also Germany apart from Mullers Oscar nominated theatrics against Portugal they had no need of it as they where obviously the better team on the match day very disappointing cheating from a world class team of players.

Hi All,
Trumper, This what the actual caption said under the image:- The moment before a Blenheim bomber from No 21. Squadron crashes into the sea, having clipped its wing on the mast of the ship it was attacking, 16th June 1941. Low level attacks on shipping were a high priority at this time but exceptionally
hazardous. So no mention if the crew survived or not I suppose it couldn’t be to difficult to find out ??
Anyway here’s another one to ogle at dobt if he’ll find any subs under that sand though 😀

I just found this BELFAST what a lovely aircraft.

Hi All,
VHS/2 – If you like a bit gory it’s for you a compilation of small films by unknown directors arranged around a couple playing VHS video tapes, just a way to while a hour or so.

Hi All,
You can’t beat a good WW2 image.
This is what the 1st image caption say’s:- Then there were the attacks on Japanese shipping as seen from the aft camera on the A-20 Havoc. Multiple low-level runs were made on the doomed ship as it absorbed the bomb blasts from the A-20s. The A-20 pilot in this high action photo was John Soloc who took away part of the ship’s log in the nacelle of one of his engines. The log was in the debris thrown into the air from the bombs of Rod Vuchilic’s A-20 just ahead who also took the picture.

This image above caught from a Blenheim that has just caught it’s wing on the ships mast before it crash’s.

Geoff.
Hi All,
Excellent post and many thanks for the articles.
Geoff.
Hi All,
For my money this has to be a contender, it is quoted somewhere by a lightning pilot you can hear them through the canopy.
Geoff.
Hi All,
Yes it was just two shots that caused 37 million in military and civilian deaths. 🙁
Geoff.
Hi All,
Would I be correct in suggesting that Mr Yeager became so famous simply by his breaking the sound barrier which lead to his rise to God/Hero status among Pilots and had he not done so he would just be another gifted Pilot during WW2 ? But what I am a little bemused by is that he only got the chance because the UK turned over all their research into the breaking of the sound barrier project M.52 on which the Bell X1 was based upon.

Hi All,
