    Hi All,
Nothing against the Americans but I would advise against it as with the F-35 debacle it would just prove to be another money pit either go it alone or team up with the Typhoon partners again simple.

    Hi All,
Angela Jolie has a license believe or not :-

Chances you can get a date: zero, unless you think you can compete with Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie started taking flying lessons in 2004 because she wanted to impress her son, Maddox, who gets excited whenever he sees an airplane. The actress said that if she learned how to fly, then she’d be like Superman to her eldest son.

Jolie owns a Cirrus SR22 Generation Three. It’s a small plane with a ton of high-tech features. It even has a parachute that lowers the entire plane safely to the ground. That seems sensible. Jolie probably doesn’t want her children jumping out of an airplane. Although the image of her hurtling towards the ground is hotter than any scene from the “Tomb Raider” movies.

Is there even a reason to debate Angelina’s hotness? She’s essentially the perfect woman. Maybe a little weird at times, but a definite beauty. Putting her in the cockpit just makes her even more attractive.

    Hi All,
While agree with you all about this being an outstanding achievement in organising the CWHM Lancaster sojourn to these shores, I cant help but wonder if it couldn’t have been timed to coincide with the return to flight status of NX611 ? Everybody would be salivating at the possibility of three Lancaster’s flying together, that is unless this is already on the cards for a return visit in the future but I somehow doubt it being such a difficult trip to organise in the first place but hey! stranger things have happened.

    Hi All,
Anybody with Sky+ can go into search and find it, only trouble is it is billed as a mini series in two parts from my memory it wasn’t that much of a long film to warrant this.

    Hi All,
    mrmalaya,
I agree with your sentiments but to mind for example we should have gone it alone with the EAP programme (Yes I know there were a couple of other country’s involved), we would have had a very capable fighter a lot earlier than we eventually had Typhoon, I honestly thought at the time I was looking at the RAF’s new fighter in my mind it looked right just had the Lightning.
I agree entirely about designing and testing for the future but it’s the lost advantage of home grown talent that we have had in abundance only to be thrown away and let migrate to American company’s that’s not to hold anything against the yanks as they have come up with some lovely aircraft it’s just that this F-35 is a mess as far as I can see, I mean now their talking about the next gen aircraft ?
To my mind designing doesn’t hurt but to start the run up to a programme when the previous programmes are still having problems i.e.. the F-22 and the Pilots breathing plus the F-35 not having the right gear for certain operations and the completely un warranted cost overrun :highly_amused: etc.etc. it just doesn’t make sense get the problems solved now then you don’t face them in future designs and don’t over complicate things.
It’s almost like shoehorning a size 11 into 6 you can’t do it ! expecting so much from an airframe that just isn’t big enough, shades of TSR2 mission creep if I am not wrong ? which lead to it’s cancellation among other reasons (Politics) that’s another argument, except this time the US is involved so they will not say we are scrapping the idea.

    Hi All,
I apologise beforehand for my following comments in light of the recent down turn in BAE shares and bringing the F-35 argument to this thread. I cannot fathom why BAE bothers with all this wasting of money testing on models that will never turn into anything real, let alone from BAE not being able to afford to produce an aircraft of it’s own and I am highly suspicious of the U.S. governments involvement in halting any British Designed, Built, Tested, Flown in a supposedly free market for trading in weapons such as aircraft.
The money that has been pumped into the F-35 programme could have paved the way for our own designers who have come up with some outstanding aircraft designs especially in the stealth Fighter/Bomber capability. While in theory like the E.U. many nations bonding together with a common goal it has in actuality been a complete failure with all the problems before entering service and I can foresee many more akin to the F-22 while entering service.
I have never liked the design of the F-35 (Although I have come around from certain angles) and as a replacement for the Harrier a non starter in my books, I mean there have been better designs in numerous books from us British that would have made more economical sense than this mess we are now forced along with other country’s to endure with the F-35.
The above design is as I see it a simple design and not like the F-35 over the top multirole capability putting more and more on the capability than it was actually designed for not to mention the work load on the pilots when they eventually sort the aircraft out. My basic point is do we really need to join with overrated U.S. lead design teams when we are so capable of designing aircraft that are just as good if not better in some cases ? The Replica as it is called looks quite a good design so why not just carry on with our own production? rather wasting money that be better spent on worthwhile projects like this.
One last thing with the M.O.D. now not acquiring any new Alarm missiles, (As with the non replacement of the Challenger 2 Tank just upgrade what they have with new engines from the mothballed tanks and with no new Tanks on the cards), will this leave a massive gap in the R.A.F’S and Navy’s F-35 procurement as I would have thought it was an essential piece of kit until a new multi role missile comes along but I have a sneaky suspicion all this cutting back is a pretext for the amalgamation of the U.K.’S forces into an E.U. force ?
Finally many thanks for the posting mrmalaya.

    Hi All,
Watching the mini series Fleming not a bad effort but let down by some appalling digital effects and sound effects as is the usual these days in a lot of documentary’s not enough care given to the sounds matching images I could have done a better job and I am bloody useless, unless that is JU-87 Stukas did night bombing in London ?
