By jove ?????????????????? Who do you think you are Ken Dod :highly_amused::highly_amused::highly_amused: where’s your tickling stick then .
Anyway I did enjoy Pt2 and repeat the above sentiment. And thanks for the info on the Nick name .
Geoff. 😀
Geoff -the wartime Hercules engines have considerable differences to the post war examples. The Halifax project in Canada has acquired various parts from Malta and former Bristol Freighter operators in Canada. None of these Hercules bits would help the Beaufighter – wartime engines are the answer and they are scarse .
Hi David,
Could they not re-configure the post war engines or what about retrieving crash site engines and back engineering ? I know I know before you say it :stupid: let alone the cost of doing that but it’s an Idea nowadays there seems to be quite a number of company’s that can back engineer all manner of things from the small to the well you imagine it and I am sure they will say yes we can do that but like I said at a premium .
Geoff:D
Hi Belforte,
Read part2 very interesting story I think Werner Oeltjebruns is owed a great deal of gratitude for taking the time and trouble to locate these Aircraft,Pilots/Aircew and forward the news to the Family’s surviving members so they get as you Americans call it closure that they so desperately need.
Geoff.
Hi Belforte,
Well being a yank I won’t hold that against you :highly_amused::highly_amused: I think you Americans referred to them as the Flying Jug and correct me if I am wrong anybody but we shortened it to the jug :eagerness:
I’ll now read Pt2 many thanks again.
Geoff.:D
Hi All,
Belforte many thanks for the post great read look forward to the next instalment, wouldn’t it be great if the dux jug either had both the current paint scheme and the paint scheme of Grant Turleys jug very apt I think .
Geoff.

Strangely enough at no point do I recall suggesting that they were. It was merely a comment that there had been coverage on FB.
