It is not J-10/F-10 the lone fighter for PAF, the ACM has said PAF would have F-16, F-7PG, JF-17 and one more western fighter. Last I read J-10/F-10 is not western but I think PAF is heading towards a major order for Mirage 2000-9. Mirage 2000-9 makes a lot sense because UAEAF has 60 or more of these aircrafts and PAF personal has on hands experience with these jets.
Thanks mate for your views.
Is it true that the newer B-777 and B-747-400ER have similar cockpit planels layout?
guys does the Mirages of PA, which went through ROSE upgrades..capable of firing BVR?? any more info on that upgrade (radar range etc would be welcomed)
As per type of the radar they have they are capable of firing BVRM?
A350 and A360?? Do you know something we don’t? 😉
🙂
A short for A-350= A-340-500 & A360= A-340-600. Personally, I think that Airbus should rename A-340 series.
IAF fighter plane crashes near Ambala
Press Trust of India
Ambala, May 7
A Jaguar fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Friday crashed shortly after taking off from the airbase.
Both pilots bailed out and there was no report of any casualty, official sources said.
The plane crashed in the fields in Manmohan Nagar, three kms from Ambala city around 4.40 pm, they said.
I would suggest that we keep other forums topics and thread there and not bring their nonsense over here
France should be offering more offset deals to promot the sale of Omni-role Rafale. Typhoon will be the aircraft of the choice for most of the EU members and the only competition it will have is F-35.
Rafale future lies with only four countries: India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. I think India is more or less out of the equation since they have invested in Su-30, Mig-29 for their AC, and more Mirage 2000. Singapore will is basically a country controlled by the American and I don’t see them buying Typhoon or Rafale because I believe it going to be F-15.
Pakistan has to pick on 4-generation fighter in next one or two years, they are actually waiting to see if India will buy 120 or more Mirage 2000. If India goes for more Mirage 2000, which looks to be the case, than Pakistan will buy few Rafale as their future 4-generation fighter and build their fleet up to 60 or 70 aircrafts in next ten years.
Saudi Arabia will I think be the first export order for Rafale. It will be the natural choice to replace their aging fleet of F-5 and if France could offer some type of overhual factory to Pakistan this would be a great factor in bringing the Saudis on as the first export customer.
Pakistan bought 11 of Lebaness Mirage III three years back. These Mirages have very few flight hours on them in fact one of them has not more than 94 hours. Not sure what is their status with PAF but more than likely they are upgraded and put into service.
Egypt has Mirage V not Mirage III. Argentina, Spain, and Zaire also operate Mirage III
Since my name has been mentioned over here and what I wrote about Dr. Agha let me clarify some points.
1- Dr. Agha wrote this piece for JDW not as her opinion but facts which she got when she attended the press conference of AVM Latif project manager of JF-17. All types of questions were entertained by AVM Latif and what Dr. Agha wrote were technical issues which she had no idea about in the past
2- Further she was not responsible for the whole article but there was another contributing reported involved.
3- When I wrote on ACIG.org about her status with “insider knowledge” of Pakistan armed forces I stand by till today. She uses a lot of conjuctures and assumes a lot.
I hope this clarifies a lot of your misunderstanding of what I wrote.

What if these missing Jags shows up in Pakistan?
PN has three Lynx which faced a very severe shortage of spare parts which were very hard to get post-May-1998. So, PN Lynx were not operational long after delivery. Seakings were in the same state but since PN has more experiance operating Seakings they were in a state of high-opertions 24/7.
Seaking is a big helicopter and it can’t land on all the ships especially frigates. PN wanted to buy six more Lynx but in view of the British embargos they had decided two years ago to buy Z-9 for its future ASW requirement on its new frigates.
A lot of navies fly Z-9 or AS-365 on their frigates and the helicopter is very versitile
I guess this is APRIL FIRST JOKE
Pakdef.info has turned into a very viable military site for Pakistan.
