1999-2000 Fiscal years ALWAYS start in July and end in June. So when the report says 1999-2000 it nmeans it was prepared in for the fiscal year 1999-2000 and later present to your Lok Shaba in Dec 18, 2000.
This is the math of a business.;)
This report is FIVE years OLD
M88-4 is no where to be found. This article you posted was a nothing more than a talk by a SNECMA chairman 10 years ago to lure South Koreans into forming a venture for their T-50 aircrafts. So far, the M88-3 is going only through initial testing stage and it whas not even been installed on a Rafale let alone M2K. Again, try keeping your thoughts on whats in the market and hold your fantasis but I know that’s very hard.
One have to understand simple logic.
Interms of Unit cost and licensing M2K is more expensive than MKI and India is buying an aircraft for 21st century not 20 the century. So it is unlikely that IAF will accept an aircraft which is less sophisticated than MKI and cost more and comes later.
So minimum requirements are
1. New engine either M53PX or M88-4
2. RBE-2 AESA radar so it is more sophisticated than BAR.
3. Aircraft made of composite material for reduce RCS and more agility.
4. Spectra defensive suite.
5. Assure supply of METEOR and MICA IIR and all MBDA PGMs.
6. Aircraft should be more advance(Just imagine more advance than LCA) and a source of technolgy for Indian Indigenous programs.
Yahoo,
Mirage 2000-5 is more advance than LCA could ever be. What the hell is M88-4…….I have read about M88-3 but not M88-4 and how the hell will you Indians gonna fit M88-4(your own dream) into a Mirage 2000. Boy you people are really way out of the curve
France should not be selling any military equipment which India will be using for its nuclear weaponry. If France is willing to sell any equipment to India which can carry or deliver nuclear weapons than France will be violating NPT and serious actions should be taken against India for buying nuclear capable equipment.
Where did this Sayan Majumdar come up with that India will be buying Mirage 2000-5 MK2? I recently read in Flight International that the contest for future fighter has not even started yet and the price for one Mirage 2000-5MK is close to $100 million. I don’t think India has the stomach to bill this much amount and this article is basically some fantasy cocked by BR people.
Moreover the IAF in active collaboration with United States, Russia and Israel should secure basing rights in West, Central and East Asia so to carry on โone-wayโ missions on various fronts to extend its reach. This aspect needs diplomatic skills on the part of both IAF and the Indian Government.
Some good writng from Lord of the Rings
Saleem, all RPs are single seat aircraft, while this one is not as you can see the two cockpits. Plus, the serial number is a give away
You are right!
Thanx for the pic PLA. Looks like the Chinese pilot was taken up in the Mirage 3DP for a ride. Do you know when the picture was taken?
I think this aircraft is an RP.
There was a time that the Chinese could make one of everything;)
AM-39 and the black nudge is a RWR
very interesting threat, but no ones answer!
why?
Because it does not have the words India & Pakistan ๐
This USAF B-707 what type of special mission this aircraft belongs to?

The deal is offered throught FMS
China manufactures all those SAM but PLAAN, PLAAF, and PLAA do not have all these their inventory. I think
Flex, do you know anything about the OV-1 Mohawk once operated by the Pakistan Army?
Pak army never admitted to fly OV-1 Mohawk. But interesting enough a group 11 pilots and several engineers and tech went for training along with AH-1 Cobra batchs to america in 1983-4. Upon their arrival back these 11 pilots and ground engineers were never assigned to any of the Cobra wings rather they flew “liason and training” missions for fixed wing aircrafts. One of the Mohawks did crash just after take-off at Karachi Int. airport in 1983.
