Yep, IAF is PLAAF centric but could not dare supporting their own army because they well knew their own existence will be at stake if they started a war with Pakistan.

Just my thoughts about the superior airfarce of India

Pakistan is not the US but by golly India is better than the US.

The reason light-medium-heavy choppers are essential part of any army is that the days of “foot” infintry are long gone. Most of the armies in the world which includes Pakistan, India, Russian, China, Iran, Iraq, etc., are “foot” armies with almost negliable ratio between mechanized (wheeled and air) “foot.” What Pakistan Army has embarked on is the right thing which is to have an air assault division. Remember Kargil, what was the initial assault by no other than choppers.

Anyone who believes that an old man with a Enfield .303 brought down an Apache has no sense of warfare. The reason Camnache was axed was not that US Army had no need of gunship but rather they had no need for a “stealth” gunship. A-10 defies a lot of logic becauseit has taken a lot of hits from MANPADS but still is kicking a lot of ass.

It is only some few childesh mind which have no grasp of importance of choppers in present and future wars. When was the last time Apache or any US chopper was brought down in Iraq???

If they want to have a more effective armed forces, they should invest in the PN by doubling their sub force and buy some 4.5 gen fighters, not helicoptrs, helicoptors do not belong in this modern day battlefield anymore, they are just too slow and are a waste of money, if an Iraqi farmer can bring down an Apache, imagine people with manpads, see the recent heli shoot down video by Chechens on the forum for details.

    WOW, PROFOUND STATEMENTS

    Steve,

Pakistan Army canceled the order for 40 Bell-407 in March of this year. They cited Bell-407 were not suitable for hi-hot missions. This cancellation lead to them buy/lease 26 Bell-412 and according to Pakdef.info, if these choppers were leased than they should be delivered to Pakistan Army within 60 days. If you get your hands on the serial IDs for B-412 please post it on Pakdef.info. Oh, the delivery of AH-1/UH-1 should start in fall of this year according to Pakdef.info.

The silver lining on the fuselage is not for design. This appeared right after 9/11. As you can see on these excellent shots that the silver lining on the fuselage is very similar to the exhaust of the engines. This is some type of RAM which is used on the aircraft and to add more check closely the exhaust of the engine number 3, see that filter type thing, this is new also. I got all this information from ABC news man Sam Donaldson who recently indicated all these new gadgets on Air force 1.
