Moggy I think you might be going a little to deap, for a radio air-to-ground or vice versa can be a good thing, keeping you updated about situations and giving you advice about what to do, for instance “taxi and hold at your discretion.”

Our information gives us instructions with your discretion on the end, for it can’t give instructions it is a good way of safely monitering situations, and most air/ground to radio stations at airfields are normally situated in good view of the runway.

I once saw a shed built up on about 50ft of wooden planks, where a little man sat operating his radio.

For these might not be operated by NATS control ATCS most of the people who sit their and do it, do fly and hold PPL or upwards.

A position at a farm strip down near wolverhampton is going as a radio operator at this strip, for it provides food and fuel and B&B in the farm house, and the farmer having his PPL and a plane is letting out his cessna, for im not exacly sure of its location I know people do go in and out of their, funny I cant find it on the chart?

Maybe I should apply for the position? (Part-time postion/w-ends)

Rotor-craft are whats commonly known as death trpas in the fixed wing world, with capabilitys of O.A.P’S and well they can only do some much, for an engine failure will result in a tricky situtation, welcome to the baord, I have not seen you before but you will see my coloums in todays pilot by R.weaver.

Try fixed wing for a helicopter is a jet powered brick for those who fly it have the same characterisitcs.

    Dont take it to hasty.

Nice to hear a fresh voice, a rotorcraft one, for my R22 trial

lesson lesson once was enougth to put me off for life!

Onwards and upwrads as long as it’s piper.

Never trust a student pilot for he will be to busy looking at the view, for an error will cause your funeral in something which was well worth the cost.

Well you can do your training on any aircraft you chose, my budget dictates a 152 but its really upto you, Most commercial pilots I know done their CPL on the Piper Arrow, but its a little to expensive, indeed if I wasnt going to do my IFR rating after thaen yes I could get away with it maybe even on the Seneca, but I think an IFR rating makes you very much more employable than VFR time and ratings on the Seneca.

So to your question: It is really just upto you what you do and how that you do it. Why should you like to know, dont you have the dream job?

What do you think about the IFR rating over the twin rating?

What a prat, sorry to sound so creul about the matter but yes these things do happen, I will give you an event of my experiance on a hot summers day in G-BPBM (PA-28-161)

Information has just cleared me to land, I know its not informations job but when it is busy they really can help by telling you what to do, ofcourse “at your discretion” followed at the end of each transit.

I touch down, not to badly actually and this Gyrocopter comes out of no-where up my rear, I am on the deck slowing from 50 to 10 so I have a quick glance behind, he was VERY close, so I thew in the throttle and hit hard right and swang the aircraft round onto a taxi-way, lucky there was one, otherwise it would have to of been grass.

Thier are prats everywhere, many pilots who are licenced and have bad ways, so watch your back, I DO!

I might consider flying taildraggers one day but to be honest im quite happy on the pa-28 and the c152 for my basic trainiing, i intend to do my intire cpl and cfi on the c152 and keep it cheap.

Imagne doing all ur training in the c152, so cheap and fun and easy to fly, a great dependable machine, a truly fantastic plane.

I would like to try the piper cub, no flaps low serfice ceiling, low cruise, great fun!

How far you looking at going in aspects of aviation.

I was thinking of Regalair located at paine field, then again I am also going to do a good deal of trainig out here at a airfield in Essex becuase of saving money from accomendation and flights.

For I will go to Regal most likely just to do my IFR rating, who knows but im starting next March/April

Whats flying taildraggers like? Ever flown the cub?

    Well lucky you,

The word commonly used when one asks you about if you fly and wow that must be fun. Im sure luck has nothing to do with it and that you have worked very hard for your licence, I have re-booked today from 12:15 to 2:15 just for the reason that I hope the wind slacks and that by it doing so my instructor is more happy for me to do more solo work i the circuit, I really do love soloing in the circuit, great fun.

Im not to sure how long the CAA will take to send you back your licecnce, I think it could be a matter of weeks, you know what they are like.

Im going to do my FAA medical on Febuary 20th so I really do hope I check out, the dream of getting my hands on a 737 one day excites me, maybe im being to optamistic??? (For CPL)
For I know I will get a 2/3 medical so it wonT stop my doing the CFI course, and operating the honours of it. (Refer FAR 61)

Knowing my luck I will be six feet under before I get my licnece for the reason of constant bad weather, I tell you the weather is really starting to f************ me off at the moment.

Have fun, and if you ever need a safety pilot to smoke your cigars and do most of the flying, and log the hours and eat your packed lunch, Im your man.

    How about American airlines,

At one point before sep.11th I do understand you could get into American airlines on a CPL with 300t.t as a first officer, I think from thier they provided your transition training to 737 which is what most fledging AA pilots start on. (Lucky bloody them)

I know freight is ok, and with the FAA I can fly Golf reg aircraft if I take some sort of skills/transition test. So my instructor goes.

    Hear from you soon

Well Steve if your willing to take people up I will come up with you can do some duel with you. (As long as you let me pay for the time I fly.)

What do you fly, Im only joking you enjoy all your solo time unless you want a co-pilot that is?

Today I went and the weather was no good for solo but it was o.k for duel, so I went home, its time to stop this duel time and get solo time im back next week.

And what really f**** me off is that as I left the sun came out and it was getting good for solo flying, but typical no bloody spaces left.

    My view

Yes I hope it is a good one, I hope I get into the R.A.F this year which I am quite sure I will, numbers are in demand!
(Im going for a navigator in tornadoes or ATC)

And I hope I gain my NPPL in September this year, just a few more hours solo in the circuit and then navagation and them im done, for the world will become my flying dream.

Let’s hope we all see the NPPL instructor rating come out, I sure do. (I could almost prey for it, im sure it’s coming guys)

Have safe and enjoyable flying for 2004 all, and keep it legal.
