Wow….all I did was start a thread to say my condolences to those killed and everyone goes all crazy with the arguments….

Furthermore, I’m chastised for starting the thread to begin with….

What exactly did I do wrong?

I referred to Al-Quaeda operatives as evil people? I’m not sure I know of anyone in here that would agree with a terrorist group such as that so why does that cause my post to be labelled as nationalistic BS?

Furthermore, I stated that people from all over the world were killed….not just Americans.

How have I done anything wrong?

Also, a comment was made about how I don’t post threads about people in other nations being killed and that’s simply because I’m not a national of another country. Does it mean I think their lives are any less important? No. I just was more directly affected by this event so I posted a thread stating my condolences…..if that’s wrong then I’m not quire sure what is right. Let me emphasize again this tragedy affected not just Americans, but people from all over the globe.

Sorry to cause such a ruckus with this thread, and I guess I’ll know in the future not to make mention of it…..

Don’t be sorry that you started this thread. You really get to see who’s on who’s side.

How about start off by showing them some sort of understanding?

If the United States does not always try to impose itself on the Middle East and respect their values, do you think they’re going to hate you? Do you think they will keep support suicide bombers?

They can step it up, you can keep drop more bombs, but their hatred for you will grow. Yours bomb can kill their people but it does not kill off the hate.

We have imposed ourselves all over the world. Microsoft, Burger King, McDonalds, Coke, Pepsi, Levis, Nike, ipod, movies, music etc. Nobody else has a problem when we hurl our culture at them.

Respect their values? The Muslim culture treats women as property (with laws backing it up)that men can do whatever with. In the more conservative Muslim countries its a crime to have a Bible, Cross or convert to Christianity. Judism is right out in those countries as well.

Now I know that some men in the West treat women as second class but I don’t yet you want me to respect they way they treat their women?

If you want understanding then BOTH sides must want it. So what makes you think the radical muslims want understanding? They see the West treating women as people not property and we can be whatever regilion we want or not be regilious at all. They are afraid of the freedoms that the West enjoys. THIS TAKES POWER AWAY FROM THE RADICAL MUSLIMS. Now do you think they want to give up that power?

The radical muslim leaders fuel hate because that is what keeps them in power.

There are many ways one can fight for a cause without using violence 😉

So what are they? And if the other side steps it up are you willing to do whatever it takes to keep your cause alive.

The side that wins is willing to do what the otherside is unwilling to do.

They usually do at some point or another.

I think that we need to remember that ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are merely our own opinions and each persons opinion is different and this will never change, no matter how many of them you kill.

So was Hitler a “good” person or “bad” person in your opinion? What about Bin Laden? Or Saddam? What about Bush?

As for Indian independence and Vietnam, what caused those defeats for England and the US was a lack of will by the polticians. What if 10 Downing Street or the Viceroy unleashed the army on the Indians? What would have Gandhi done then for independence. Anyway Gandhi didn’t completely pull it of. India split into Muslim and Hindu nations and he was shot. India and Paksitian have fought three wars with each other and still have border clashes from time to time. Only the threat of nuclear attack keep them at bay. So where’s the peace?

When the 1968 Tet Offensive failed General Giap and Ho Chi Minh thought they had failed but when they saw the American media covering the anti-war movement they realized they didn’t have to win on the battlefield to win the war. Had we invaded North Vietnam and bombed the hell out of Hanoi, in other words if we fought total war Vietnam would have just been another notch on our gun.

England and Ireland have been fighting each other off and on for about what 500 years? Give or take a decade and only now have both sides sat down and talked. After about 500 years of fighting i’m sure both sides were sick of it by now.
