How many F-22s and JSFs could be built with $700 billion?;)

Let’s see…..I think that would come out to about 1 and 1/2 F-22s and the front landing gear of a JSF.:D

With the world going broke the militaries of the world better be happy if they get money to cash their paychecks. Russia and China are caught up in this to so PAK-FA and J-XX might get pushed back if not cancelled. Also there’s the possiblitiy that partners may pull out of the F-35 program if costs keep going up. I believe that Italy is scaling back its part in the F-35 for the time being because of the economic meltdown.

The F-15, F-16 and F-18 lines are still open. I’m not sure about the AV-8 line. The US military can replace its legacy aircraft with upgraded new builds if the F-22 and the F-35 have to be shelved.

We can all debate about what the threat will be 20 to 30 years from now until our fingers are numb but it all comes down to just one simple sentence right now:

    SHOW ME THE MONEY!!

……and may I had to Chuck’s comment on why trickle up doesn’t work is that poor people do not generate wealth or create jobs. Yeah if you give them money they might spend it but when its gone then what?

Socialism may work fine in small countries but look at Russia and China they were the two biggest socialist countries in the world and they are getting away from it. Even India doesn’t use pure socialism in its economy.

..Of course the rest of the world is happy Obama won. Which, tells me alot…….

Just wait, when our economy slides into a depression and drags down the rest of the global economy they won’t be happy for long.

If you read the book “Bridge Too Far” Browning did have concerns about the operation. It was Monty that pushed it and after Browning saw the plan that’s when he said, “We might be going a bridge too far.” before the drop.

I had a co-worker, a black woman, and she was always going on (and on) about Iraq.
I commented jokingly to a friend “That’s the trouble with Vietnam..it gave ALL wars a bad name.”
She overheard that and exploded…”Name one good war”.
    “The Civil War” I replied.
She shut up…but I really think she was too stupid to understand the point I made.[/QUOTE]

    OH SNAP!! Very good comeback!:diablo:

All Quiet on the Western Front IMO is the best anti-war movie. It doesn’t preach it just shows what those young men went through and makes you think.

Right wing nutcases? How about the woman on the youtube video where she says that Obama will pay for her gas and her mortgage or better yet the two co-workers at my job who think that Obama will give them a raise at our job as part of his “spread the wealth” mantra. They don’t sound very rational. Believe me when I say that those who voted for Obama are already checking their mailboxes looking for that $100,000 check that they think Obama promised them. I say that by the end of 2009 they will be screaming, “Where’s my f-ing handout!” and I’ll be laughing my ass off.

Actually I believe that feudalism is taking shape in the USA. The “nobles” in Washington believe that all wealth in this country is their’s to play with and we “serfs” should be happy for the table scraps they toss down to us. The “noblity” also includes incompetent CEO’s who bankrupt their companies and demand a bailout from the Feds. The celebritards in Hollywood also think of themselves as “nobility” as well. They lip sync a couple of songs or make some crappy movies that debute in a DVD rental shop and they think they know how to run the universe.

85%? Are you referring to your country because the popular vote in the US was 52%-47%.

hmmmm…..I wonder how many times Mickey Mouse voted here in Florida?:diablo:
